Re; The Police Blotter. Why do you not list the location/Business names of reported crimes and arrests?
Re: The Police Blotter: Why do you not release the location/Business name where a crime or an arrest take place.
When it’s pertinent to neighborhoods we do. If there is a string of crimes/burglaries that affect the public in general, in a particular area, we do. Some reported crimes aren’t reported from a business or location, they are reported at the police station, we don’t know where the arrest or crime originated. Shoplifting, arrests made from vehicle stops, trespassing in casinos…do you really need to know where that happened? Arrests made for drugs are usually associated with the traffic stops, if it were a search warrant issued or something that was a public threat, the area would be listed. We don’t name businesses because there are so few you can guess which one of the three major stores a shoplifting charge might originate but it’s not exactly a public threat.
The theft: “An officer responded to a residence reference a report of theft from a vehicle” was reported at the police station, there was no location to give you. I hope this helps answer your question
