Some calls that Mesquite Fire and Rescue receives are not always included in the report, as a synopsis is not received. To show the amount of work our Fire and Rescue workers do, we are including a weekly roster of stats. There were 65 calls this week:

May 12:

Public assistance:  E31 responded to help an elderly individual with a smoke detector malfunction.

Vehicle fire: Engine 31, Truck 31 and Rescue 11 responded to a report of a car fire at the fuel pumps of a gas station. The fire was extinguished preventing spread to other exposures.

May 13:

Back pain: Rescue 31 responded to a report of back pain. One patient was transported to a local hospital.

Gas leak: Engine 31 responded to a report of a gasoline leak from a vehicle; incident was controlled.

May 14:

MVA with injury:  Rescue 11 and Engine 31 responded to report of a motor vehicle accident. One patient was transported to a local hospital.

Chest pain: Rescue 11 and 31 responded to a report of chest pain. One patient transported to a local hospital.

May 15:

Fire investigation: Engine 31 and Rescue 32 responded to the area of the High School for visible smoke, found a non-permitted burn in a back yard and asked the owner to put it out.

Breathing: Rescue 11 and Rescue 32 responded to a person with difficulty breathing, 1 patient transported to a hospital in St. George.

May 16:

Intoxication: Rescue 11 responded to an intoxicated individual at a local casino. Person was taken into custody by Mesquite Police officer.

Sick person: Rescue 11 responded to the reports of a sick person. Patient was transported to local hospital.

May 17:

Hemorrhage: Rescue 11 and Engine 31 responded to the reports of a victim bleeding. Patient was transported to local hospital.

Fire alarm: Engine 31 responded to the reports of a smoke alarm. After investigation, no smoke no fire was present. Smoke detector malfunction.

May 18:

Psychiatric: Rescue 31 responded to a report of a psychiatric problem. One patient was transported to a local hospital.

Agency assistance: Engine 31 and Rescue 31 responded to a single vehicle accident. One patient was transported to a local hospital.
