Many calls that the Police Department receives are not always included in the blotter, as they are under investigation or a synopsis is not received. To show the amount of work our PD does do, we are including a weekly roster of stats. There were 188 calls this week:

Feb. 10:

Stolen vehicle: Officers took a report of a stolen pickup truck.

Domestic violence: Officers responded to a domestic violence call. The offender was gone upon police arrival. Officer completed a citation to serve for domestic violence for

the offender.

Controlled substance problem: One adult female was located and arrested for PCS SCH I-IV Meth.

Trespassing: Officers responded to an E. Pioneer Blvd.  casino reference a trespassing call. One adult female was issued a citation for trespassing and released.

Traffic stop: Officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for minor traffic offenses. One

adult male had an outstanding warrant issued by the Mesquite Municipal Court.

The male was arrested for the warrant, traffic offenses, and obstructing.

Feb. 11:

Found property: Officers took a report of a found UT DL.

Mental person: An adult female submitted a citizens complaint at MPD and left prior to police

arrival.

Animal bite: Assisted ACO on a call of a dog bite in a local neighborhood.

Traffic accident W/O injury: Officers responded to an accident involving two vehicles. There were no injuries reported and a report was completed.

Hit & Run: Officers responded to a hit and run in the parking lot of a local business. The

suspect vehicle fled the scene in an unknown black truck. A report was completed.

Civil matter: Spoke with complainant regarding a private property accident which occurred two weeks prior. Advised it was a civil issue and to advise his insurance.

Suspicious Person: Responded to report of a child not able to enter her home. Contacted family in

an attempt to get child into home.

Traffic stop: Officers conducted a traffic stop. The driver was cited for open container in a vehicle.

Feb. 12:

Person on foot: Observed an adult male cross Mesquite Blvd on foot outside of a marked crossing

area.

Lost property: Officers responded to the Mesquite Police Department reference a lost property.

A report was completed.

Theft from vehicle: Officers took a report regarding property that was stolen from a city owned

vehicle.

Suspicious person: A report was taken for a possible weapons offence. The victim provided a written

statement, the investigation is ongoing.

Domestic trouble: An adult male was found and arrested for domestic battery. He was transported to

the Mesquite Detention Center and booked on the charge.

DUI: Officers conducted a traffic stop. One male was arrested for DUI.

 

Feb. 13:

Suspicious person: An adult male was taken into custody for trespassing and obstructing police.

 

DUI: Officer was dispatched to a parking lot for a report of a possible intoxicated

driver. The subject was located and after investigation was taken into custody

for traffic offense and drug related charges.

Stolen vehicle: Officer responded to a hotel for a report of a stolen trailer. After entering

the trailer as stolen it was located and a male subject was taken into custody.

Lost property: An officer took a report of a lost identification.

Burglary: An officer responded to an attempted burglary at residential storage unit.  An adult male was later located and charged with multiple felonies.

Wanted person: An officer contacted a male at a casino with a local misdemeanor warrant. The male was arrested for the warrant.

Burglary: Officer completed a burglary report.

Theft: Officers responded to a W. Pioneer Blvd. business in reference to past thefts. One adult male and one adult female were arrested on multiple felony charges.

Theft: An officer was dispatched to a W. Pioneer Blvd. store, in reference to a theft.

Feb. 14:

Welfare check: Officers responded to a juvenile problem before school.

Found property: Officer responded to the police department lobby for a report of found property.

Officer took custody of the property until the owner could be identified.

Theft: Officer responded to a W. Mesquite Blvd. laundromat for a report of a theft. Investigation is

ongoing.

Fraud: An officer responded to the Mesquite Police Department to take a report of credit card fraud.

Traffic accident w/o injury: An officer was dispatched to a local address, in reference to a traffic accident

without injuries.

Person on foot: An officer stopped an adult male subject, on a bicycle, for a traffic offense. This subject was taken into custody, for three counts of obtaining money under false pretenses and two counts of petit larceny, in reference to another incident.

Feb. 15:

Stolen vehicle: An officer responded to a Huntington Hts.  residential neighborhood to take a report of a stolen utility trailer.

Truancy: One juvenile female was cited for truancy.

Custody issue: Officers responded to a custody issue.

Person on Foot: Officers made contact with a male panhandling within city limits. The male was

cited for the offense.

Trespassing: Officer issued a male adult a citation for trespassing and released him. The male left the area without incident.

Wanted person: Officers located a female adult with and active warrant. The female was arrested outside a business.

Unknown problem: Officers responded to a residence in reference to a 911 hang up. One male adult

was arrested for domestic battery.

Feb. 16:

Minor gambling: Officers responded to an E. Pioneer Blvd. casino reference a minor gambling. One adult male was issued a citation for minor gambling and released.

Controlled substance problem: Officers responded to a casino reference a minor gambling. One adult male was issued a citation for minor gambling and minor in possession of marijuana.

Agency assistance: Officers responded to a local address to assist MFD with an adult female who was having a medical episode.

Traffic accident w/o injury: Dispatched to private property non-injury accident. On arrival, vehicles had been moved from point of impact. Drivers stated the V1 had been backing down the traffic lane in front of the grocery entrance when her vehicle struck V2 who was backing out of a parking spot. Damages to V1 were rub marks along center rear bumper. Damages to V2 were Denting and rub marks on the rear bumper. Drivers completed and exchanged insurance information forms. Nothing further.

Animal bite: Officers responded to a call of an animal bite. The victim did not want to press

charges.

Feb. 17:

Traffic stop: Officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle. One adult minor was issued a

citation for minor in possession of alcoholic beverage.

Recovered stolen vehicle: Officers responded to the Mesquite Police Department reference a recovered

vehicle that was stolen out of Mesquite, NV.

DUI: Officers were called to a W. Mesquite Blvd. casino reference a DUI accident. A vehicle was

high centered on a decorative wall. Upon investigation the driver was intoxicated and arrested for DUI. No injuries were reported.

Domestic violence: Officers responded to a Riverside Rd. business reference an adult male who stated he was hit by his girlfriend multiple time.
