Dear Editor,
The Mesquite Desert Dogs is a professional basketball team based right here in Mesquite. As the current head coach, I felt compelled to reach out to the community and express my gratitude for all the support we have received in that last couple of months. Every game I look into the stands and I see so many supporters, this is a great feeling. I do understand that not all the community is aware we are here, due to lack of advertising and unable to get the word out but please know we are trying to revamp our organization so that we can get more information out. We truly love being in Mesquite and want to continue to grow and become a part of the community.
Mesquite Desert Dogs mission is to provide a high quality basketball experience for the players, fans and the community. We thrive for excellence, both on and off the court to enrich the lives of everyone within our basketball family. Since we are new to the community, we are seeking all opportunities to have the team engaged with different organizations to be able to make a positive impact. It is important that we give back to the community that supports us.
We are associated with The Basketball League and our season runs from January to April. This season, we host our home games at the Virgin Valley High School. Our schedule can be found on our website: www.mesquitedesertdogs.com. We invite anyone and everyone who loves a great game of basketball to join us at our next home game. The players are talented and we thrive to put on a great game for everyone to enjoy. We will be playing the San Diego Waves on Wednesday, February 13, 2019 at Virgin Valley High School, tip-off is 7:00 pm. On that same day, there will be a BBQ held at the high school, outside the gym from 4:30 pm to 6:30 pm, this BBQ is free to the public. We hope to see you soon.
