After going 2-0 the previous week, the VVHS Bulldog basketball team lost at Chaparral 60-34 and Boulder City 63-46 to end the week.

The Bulldogs offense sputtered in the first half at Chaparral as they managed only 8 points to fall behind 32-8. The Bulldogs battled evenly in the third period but still trailed 51-26. The final period was a little sloppy on both sides of the ball making the final score 60-34. Daxon Toone led the Dawgs with 13 points.

Despite losing at Boulder City, the Bulldogs came out strong against the first place Eagles. The dawgs led 16-15 after one period and tied 28-28 at the break. The last two periods were in a different story as the Dawgs were outscored 17-9 and 18-9 in the final two periods. Will Barnum led the Dawgs with 15 points followed by Braden Bingham with 9 points. The Dawgs hope to sweep the Sunrise Mountain Miners in their home and away series as they travel to Las Vegas on Wednesday Feb. 6. The Bulldogs beat the Miners earlier this season at home 52-46. The Bulldogs host Moapa Valley on Friday Feb.8 with revenge on their mind as they lost at Moapa 60-46 in their first league game of the season.
