Many calls that the Police Department receives are not always included in the blotter, as they are under investigation or a synopsis is not received. To show the amount of work our PD does do, we are including a weekly roster of stats. There were 155 calls this week:

Dec. 9:

Burglary: Officers responded to a Palos Verdes neighborhood on a report of a suspicious male attempting to gain access to vehicles. Officers determined a burglary occurred but were unable to locate the male. The investigation is ongoing.

Trespassing: Officers responded to a local casino for a male who had been previously trespassed. The hotel security signed a complaint for trespassing.

Theft from vehicle: Officers responded to a Sierra Vista Cir. residence reference a theft from a vehicle. A report was completed.

Traffic Accident w/ Injuries: Officers responded to a head on collision involving two vehicles. One vehicle had caught fire and the fire was extinguished by Mesquite Fire Department. Two people were transported to the hospital to be treated. One adult male was arrested for driving under the influence, resisting arrest, battery of a police officer, and traffic offenses.

Theft: Officers responded to a report of theft. 1 male was arrested on charges of theft and drug paraphernalia.

Miscellaneous CAD Call Record: The officer took a report of child custody problems due to both parents not able to settle their differences.

Fighting: Officers responded to a fight in progress at a local casino. Upon arrival two intoxicated patrons caused a scene and became physical with security. After the investigation the two patrons were arrested.

Dec. 10:

Domestic trouble: Officers responded to a Grapevine Rd. residence for a domestic disturbance. One male adult was arrested for battery domestic violence.

Theft: Officer responded to a N. Sandhill Rd. business and completed a report of a theft of a cell phone.

Property Damage, Non Vandalism: Officer took a report of a vehicle striking a road sign then fleeing the area.

Theft: Officer’s responded to a business reference a theft of money. A report was completed and the investigation is ongoing.

Dec. 11:

Burglary: Officers responded to a residence reference a burglary. Detective’s with the

Mesquite Police Department responded and processed the scene. The case is currently under investigation.

Truancy: Mesquite Officer responded to a local school reference a truant student.

Agency Assistance: Report taken of fraudulent use of Financial Transaction Device.

Stolen Vehicle: Officers responded to the Mesquite Police Department reference a stolen utility trailer. The trailer was stolen from a casino parking lot. The trailer was entered into the National Database.

Stolen vehicle: Officers spoke with a male over the phone reference a stolen camper trailer. The complainant was not aware his trailer was stolen but was notified by a Police Department in another state that his trailer had been recovered. A report was completed.

Lost property: Officer responded to a residence reference lost property. A report was completed.

K9 Search: An officer assisted Arizona Department of Safety on a traffic stop with a drug sniffing K9. A large amount of illegal narcotics were located. The male driver was arrested by AZDPS.

Trespassing: Officers responded to a Lower Flat Top Mesa Dr. business on a report of a male subject causing a disturbance. Officers contacted the male but he was unable to be identified. The male was arrested for breach of peace and obstruction.

Agency assistance: An officer was dispatched to a Sagebrush St. residence to assist other agency for a report of a deceased elderly male.

Traffic stop: An officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for a violation. The female driver was arrested for driving on a revoked driver’s license and an open container of alcohol. One male passenger was arrested for two warrants out of Mesquite Municipal Court and for an open container of alcohol in a motor vehicle.

Dec. 12:

Recovered stolen vehicle: Officer responded to a report of a suspicious vehicle. Vehicle was discovered to be stolen locally. Investigation is ongoing.

Traffic accident w/ damage: Officer responded to an intersection report of a traffic accident. The at fault driver was issued a citation.

Controlled substance problem: Officers responded to a local casino reference a report of found drugs. One male was taken into custody for possession of methamphetamine.

Theft from vehicle: Officer took a report of a stolen license plate.

Identification check: An officer was dispatched to a local casino, in reference to an identification check.  Two adult/minors were cited and released for minor gambling.

Controlled substance problem: Officer stops a male adult for jaywalking. The male adult was arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia.

Dec. 13:

Trespassing: Officers responded to a local casino reference a report of a trespass violator. One female was cited and released for the offense.

SRO related activity: Mesquite Officer responded to a local  high school reference a student who was causing a disturbance in school while school was in session.

Wanted person: An officer observed a male at a local casino with an active warrant. The male was taken into custody for the warrant.

Traffic stop: Officers stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation. One female adult was arrested on a warrant.

Trespassing: Officers were dispatched to a local casino, in reference to a trespass violator.

An adult female subject was taken into custody for a felony warrant and trespassing.

Dec. 14:

Suspicious person: Officer responded to a report of a theft. Investigation is ongoing.

Citizen assist: Officer responded to the police department for report of a theft. Crime occurred in another jurisdiction and report was taken.

Controlled substance problem: Officers responded to a local casino reference abandoned property inside a room. Officers located drug paraphernalia inside the room. The paraphernalia was booked into evidence.

Dec. 15:

Traffic stop: An officer conducted a traffic stop, on a vehicle, for a traffic offense. The female driver was issued a citation for an open container of alcohol in a motor vehicle.

Theft: Officer responded to a report of a theft at a Mesa Blvd.  gas station. One male subject was taken into custody for petit larceny.

Traffic Stop: Officers conducted a traffic stop for a traffic violation. One male was taken into custody for possession of heroin, methamphetamine, and drug paraphernalia.

One female was taken into custody for obstructing a public officer and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Theft: An officer responded to a Riverside Rd.  residence reference a theft report. The investigation is ongoing.

Traffic stop: An officer stopped a motor vehicle for a traffic offense.  The driver of the motor vehicle, an adult female subject, was arrested for DUI-Alcohol (1st offense) and two traffic offenses.

Trespassing: A male adult was issued a citation for trespassing at a W. Mesquite Blvd. casino and released. The male left property without incident.
