Friday’s matchup in Las Vegas between the Virgin Valley High School Bulldogs and the Ranch High School Rams is about equal to the Alabama Crimson Tide facing the Toledo Mud Hens of college football. It is known as fodder or padding statistics. This is not to say coach Woods and the Bulldogs are anywhere guilty of this because you play the game scheduled. The Rams were the doormat of Division 4A football for years before moving down to Division 3A. Not much has changed as the Rams season record sits at 1-5 with their only win against an equally weak Western Warrior football team. Rancho outscored Western 30-7 and lost to five other opponents by a combined 251-0 score. Moapa Valley defeated the Rams in their last game 55-0. The Bulldogs defeated common opponent Western 60-6 but lost their last outing to Boulder City 27-20. The Rams quarterbacks have completed 10 passes in 45 attempts for 117 total yards. Their rushing attack averaged 98+ yards in six games. Unless there is a miracle performance by the Rams, example 29 point underdog Old Dominion beating Virginia Tech this past weekend, coach Woods should go through his roster before the night’s over and rest his starters for next week’s game against Spring Valley.
