The Virgin Valley High volleyball team came out on the short end of a 3-1 decision to host Spring Valley High Wednesday evening in Las Vegas.

The Lady Grizzlies prevailed by scores of 25-12, 25-13, 22-25 and 25-17 in the non-league match.

The win improves Spring Valley to 5-7 overall on the season while the Lady Bulldogs fell to 0-11. League play will begin next week.

Areli Ponce and Sydney Ludvigson each recorded two service aces for Virgin Valley which had seven aces overall on the night. Aurora Crouch, Jaylee Whipple and Maleena Felshaw added one ace apiece.

Nathalie Lagamayo, Taylor Marshall and Felshaw each had a kill during the match for VVHS.

The Lady Bulldogs will open Sunrise League play Monday in Las Vegas against Sunrise Mountain (0-8 overall) at 6 p.m.

Virgin Valley’s next home match will be Sept. 25 at 6 p.m. against Chaparral.
