Due to upgrades in the Police Reporting System which has created issues, the MLN was only able to publish a partial report this week. Once the MPD’s reporting system is fixed, we will continue with full reports.

Many calls that the Police Department receives are not always included in the blotter, as they are under investigation or a synopsis is not received. To show the amount of work our PD does do, we are including a weekly roster of stats. There were 78 calls this week:

Aug. 19:
Traffic stop: Officers conducted a traffic stop for a basic speed violation. One male was taken into custody for DUI 1st.
Aug. 20:
Property Damage, Non Vandalism: Officer responded to a Marilyn Pkwy city park on a report of graffiti.
Burglary: Officer completed a residential burglary report for a local citizen.
Fraud: Report taken for fraudulent use of credit card.
Disorderly conduct: Officers responded to an E. Pioneer Blvd. casino on a report of a suspicious situation. One adult male was arrested and taken to the hospital for a mental evaluation.
Aug. 21:
Juvenile problem: Officer completed a report of a theft.
Suspicious Person: Responded to Tortuga Way on a report of an alleged kidnap attempt.
Traffic accident W/O injury: Officers responded to a non-injury traffic accident.
Suspicious vehicle: Officers responded to an E. Pioneer Blvd. casino to speak with a possible suspect in a property damage incident. The person admitted to the act and was taken into custody.
Aug. 22:
Animal complaint: Officers responded on an animal complaint. One adult male was cited and released for animal at large.
Fire: Officers responded to a fire call at a Highland Dr. hotel. The fire was extinguished and the
Mesquite Fire Department took over the scene.
Aug. 23:
Domestic violence: Officers were dispatched to a Muscat Dr. address in reference to a domestic in progress. An adult male subject was taken into custody for domestic battery (2nd offense).
Aug. 24:
Lost property: Officer completed a lost property report.
Traffic accident w/o injury: Officer responded to a local intersection for a report of a minor traffic accident. Officer completed a traffic accident report, no reported injuries.
Theft: Officers responded to a W. Pioneer Blvd. business for a report of shoplifting. One male adult was issued a citation for shoplifting. It is suspected the male is involved in additional incidents at the same business. The investigation to those incidents is ongoing.
