Many calls that the Police Department receives are not always included in the blotter, as they are under investigation or a synopsis is not received. To show the amount of work our PD does do, we are including a weekly roster of stats. There were 144 calls this week:

July 15:

Trespassing: An officer was dispatched to a W. Mesquite Blvd. casino, in reference to a trespass.  An adult male subject was taken into custody for trespassing and a local misdemeanor warrant.

Suspicious vehicle: An officer observed a suspicious vehicle in a Lower Flat Top Mesa park after curfew hours. One adult male was arrested for minor consumption of alcohol and park curfew. One male was issued a citation for minor consumption.

Dead body: Officers responded to a local residence for an agency assist. Upon arrival Officer met with MFR and was advised subject was deceased.

TPO violation: Officers responded to a report of harassment at a Topaz Ln. residence. One adult female was arrested for TPO violation.

Wanted person: Officer located and arrested an adult male with a Bench Warrant out of Mesquite Municipal Court.

Phone harassment: Citizen stated unknown person attempting to obtain cash or pornographic images would be posted on their web site. R/P was advised to block the e mails from her account and notify her friends/family.

Juvenile problem: Officers responded on a report of a missing juvenile. The juvenile was located an issued a citation for driving a vehicle without a valid driver license.

Trespassing: Officers responded to an E. Pioneer Blvd. casino for a report of a patron who was previously trespassed from the property and had returned. When Security located the individual they became belligerent. Security signed a complaint against the patron for trespass violation.

Theft: Officers were called to an E. Pioneer Blvd. casino for a report of a theft. Upon investigation evidence shows a patron had stolen property from another patron. The patron was arrested for petit larceny.

July 16:

Controlled substance problem: Detectives collected medications from the Drug Take Back Program.

Theft: Officer responded to a residence for a theft report.

Traffic accident W/O injury: Officers responded to a traffic accident with no injuries, one male was cited for following too close.

Traffic accident W/O injury: An officer responded to a two vehicle collision on local roadway, with no injuries.

Theft from vehicle: Officers took a report of possible theft from vehicle, no further information at this time.

Theft: Officer responded to a theft call. A RP stated her purse was taken out of her vehicle approximately two days ago. The vehicle was reportedly unlocked.

Traffic stop: Officer observed a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed. Officer conducted a traffic stop and found the driver had active warrants from other jurisdictions. During the investigation the owner discovered the driver had been smoking marijuana in public and was in possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. The driver was taken into custody.

July 17:

Welfare check: Officers responded to a Canyon Dr. residence for a welfare check. The R/P who was under the influence of alcohol and drugs became verbally aggressive, screaming, cursing and making threats causing workers in the area and residents stop what they were doing to observe the commotion. Subject was arrested for Breach of Peace.

Burglary: Officers responded to a residence on a report of a Burglary. The investigation is ongoing.

Welfare check: Officers responded to a Canyon Dr. residence for a welfare check. Officer assisted with taking a female to the hospital for an evaluation.

July 18:

Theft from vehicle: Officer responded to a Palm Grove Ct. residence for a report of a theft from a vehicle; Investigation is ongoing.

Minor gambling: Officer responded to a local casino for a report of a minor gambling. Officer issued a citation to the juvenile and released him to his guardian.

Wanted person: Officers observed a male at a local casino believed to have an active warrant. After running standard records check the warrant was confirmed and the male was taken into custody.

Animal complaint: An officer responded to an animal problem involving two dogs. One female adult was cited for animal at large. There were no injuries.

Suspicious person: Officers responded to a W. Pioneer Blvd. gym reference a suspicious person tampering with a vehicle. Officers are currently trying to identify the suspect.

July 19:

Lost property: Officers responded to a lost property call at a fast food restaurant.

Controlled substance problem: An officer conducted a traffic stop on a trespass violator. During the investigation, the officer observed signs of drug use. After a K9 alert and a subsequent search, one female passenger was cited for trespassing and for possession of drug paraphernalia.

Civil matter: R.P. had questions reference the sale of his property due to a previous lien on the residence and whose responsibility it was to pay the lien.

Agency assistance: Officers responded to an agency assist call at a convalescent home where an elderly female had passed away. The death did not appear suspicious and the business was advised by, CCCO to follow their normal procedures.

Minor Gambling: Officers responded to a W. Mesquite Blvd. casino reference a minor gambling. One male was cited and released for minor gambling.

Weapon offense: Officers responded to a Sandbar St. residence on reports of two males arguing outside of the residence and a possible gun shot. One male with a felony warrant was reported inside the residence. The male refused to exit the residence, so Mesquite Police Department SWAT team was called out to the residence. The male was taken into custody without incident.

Hit & Run: Officers responded to a Mesa Blvd. casino reference a hit and run. There are no suspects at this time.

Trespassing: Officers were dispatched to a W. Mesquite Blvd. casino, in reference to a trespass.  An adult female subject was taken into custody for a local misdemeanor warrant.

July 20:

Person on foot: Officer saw a male adult jaywalk across a public roadway. The male consented to a search for illegal narcotics. Officer located drug paraphernalia on the male. The male was issued a citation for the drug paraphernalia and released.

Found property: An officer was dispatched to a W. Mesquite Blvd. address, in reference to found property.

Domestic violence: Officers responded to an E. Pioneer Blvd. casino on a report of a domestic battery and suicidal person. One male subject was cited for domestic battery and transported to the hospital for a mental evaluation.

July 21:

Theft from vehicle:  An officer responded to a local residence for a report of a stolen/missing license plate.

Domestic trouble: Officers responded to a residence, one male adult was arrested for Domestic Battery.

Theft: Officers responded on a report of a theft from a motor vehicle. The item stolen was located and returned to owner.

Battery on person: Officers responded to a Canyon Dr. residence in reference to a fight in progress.

Fraud: Male reported being scammed by an individual via the Internet threatening to release nude photos of him if he didn’t pay said price.
