Many calls that the Police Department receives are not always included in the blotter, as they are under investigation or a synopsis is not received. To show the amount of work our PD does do, we are including a weekly roster of stats:
April 22:
Found property: An officer was dispatched to a Second South St. park, in reference to a found bicycle.
Vandalism: Officers responded to a Hardy Way business reference a vandalism incident. A report was completed and the investigation is ongoing
Civil matter: Officer took a report of injury which occurred at a local park.
Minor gambling: A minor was issued a citation for gambling under the age 21.
Wanted person: Officer responded to a road reference a stalled vehicle causing a traffic hazard. The driver had an active warrant of Mesquite Municipal court. The driver was arrested for the warrant and the vehicle was towed.
DUI: An adult male driver was observed committing a traffic offense. The driver failed field sobriety and was arrested for DUI.
April 23:
Trespassing: Officers responded to a W. Mesquite Blvd. casino on a trespass call. One male was issued a citation for trespassing and one female was booked into jail on trespassing charges.
Property damage, non-vandalism: Officer responded to a residence on a report of property damage. A report was completed.
Property damage, non-vandalism: Took report of graffiti at a local business. No suspect information at time of report.
Welfare check: Officers responded to a residence on a welfare check. An information report was completed.
Suspicious person: Spoke to resident who received call from out of country demanding ransom of family member. Advised they contact family/police in that country to report/confirm incident.
Fraud: An officer responded to a report of a fraud. An information report was completed.
Miscellaneous CAD call record: An officer took a citizen assist report about a driver license problem.
Traffic accident w/o injury: Took report of one car collision with private property.
April 24:
Fraud: Detective’s received information regarding a possible fraud/forgery of a business bank account out of Racine, Wisconsin.
Threatening: Officer spoke with a complainant regarding threatening text messages. Copies were obtained and the offender was contacted and agreed to no further contact with the R/P.
Property damage, non-vandalism: Took a report of damage to a key return box at a local storage facility. No items stolen just damage to locking device.
DUI: An officer responded to a possible intoxicated driver. After an investigation the driver was arrested for DUI and possession of a stolen vehicle.
Lost property: Officer responded to an E. Pioneer Blvd. casino reference lost property. A report was completed.
Wanted person: An adult male was arrested for an active warrant. He was transported to the detention center and booked.
Minor possessing/consuming: Officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle and the driver was cited for open container of alcohol.
April 25:
Abandoned vehicle: Officers located a vehicle that had been abandoned at a park for approximately one week. Officers impounded the vehicle.
Dead Body: Officers responded to a N. Yucca St. residence reference a possible deceased male. One male was confirmed deceased.
Attempt to Locate: Officers assisted law enforcement agencies from Arizona and Utah in a pursuit of a stolen vehicle that entered Nevada. The pursuit was terminated within Mesquite city limits and one male was taken into custody for possession of a stolen vehicle, felony evading a public officer, obstructing a public officer, and traffic offenses.
Theft: Detective took a report of theft of diesel fuel. Detectives are actively investigating this incident.
Theft: Officers took a report of a stolen firearm.
Trespassing: Officers responded to a Mesa Blvd. casino reference a trespass violator. An adult female was arrested for trespassing.
Traffic accident w/o injury: An officer was dispatched to a minor traffic accident and a report was completed.
April 26:
Domestic violence: Officers responded to a Eucalyptus Ln. residence reference a domestic verbal dispute. One female was taken into custody for possession of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia.
Dead body: Officers responded to an Osprey St. residence reference a possible deceased male.
Wanted person: A female was located and arrested for and active arrest warrant. The female was transported to the detention center and booked on the warrant.
Lost property: Detective took a report from an adult female that lost her wallet.
Property damage, non-vandalism: Officer completed a report of property damage at a local park.
Suicidal person: Officers were dispatched to an Eagle St. residence, in reference to a suicidal subject. An adult male subject was transported to a local hospital for an evaluation.
April 27:
Theft: Officers responded to a Thompson Dr. residence reference a stolen purse.
Theft from vehicle: Officer completed a report on a theft from motor vehicle. Officer arrested a male adult for warrants out Las Vegas.
Wanted person: An officer made contact with an adult male who had an active felony warrant.
The male was taken into custody.
Theft from vehicle: Officers responded to a local storage unit facility reference a report of theft from a travel trailer.
Recovered stolen vehicle: Officers responded to a Turtleback Rd. business for a report of a stolen trailer from another state.
Hit & Run: Officer completed a report on a hit and run accident.
Intoxicated Person: Officers responded to a Falcon Ridge Dr. gas station reference a report of an intoxicated male attempting to buy alcohol. One male was placed under arrest for DUI and open container.
Minor gambling: An officer responded to an E. Pioneer Blvd. casino in reference to a minor in the casino.
Threatening: Officers responded to a residence for a civil standby. A report of stolen medication was completed.
April 28:
Controlled substance problem: Officers contacted two males in a park parking lot after hours smoking marijuana. Both males were given citations for smoking in a public place and park curfew.
Sexual assault: Officers responded to an E. Pioneer Blvd. business reference a sexual assault. One Male adult was arrested.
Fraud: An officer responded to a Desert Rose Way residence for a phone scam.
Theft from vehicle: Officer took a report of theft from vehicle. Obtained list of missing items. No suspect information.
DUI: Officer made traffic stop for basic speed. One adult female was arrested for DUI and basic speed.
