Many calls that the Police Department receives are not always included in the blotter, as they are under investigation or a synopsis is not received. To show the amount of work our PD does do, we are including a weekly roster of stats. This week, there were 153 total incidents in the blotter:

Jan. 7:

Found property: Officers responded to an E. Pioneer Blvd. casino to take possession of found property.

Wanted person: An adult female was arrested for an active bench warrant out of The Mesquite Municipal Court.

Traffic stop: Driver was cited and the vehicle was towed, due to no license driver proof of insurance, and registration.

Jan. 8:

Theft from vehicle: Officer responded to a W. Pioneer Blvd. business regarding a report of Property damage/Theft from vehicle. Photos and a report were taken.

Found person: Officers responded to a Rivers Bend Dr. address where a female juvenile was reported missing/runaway. The juvenile returned home on their own unharmed. The juvenile was issued a curfew citation.

Jan. 9:

Theft: Officer took a report of theft of medications and cash. Officer is attempting to obtain suspect information.

Theft: An officer responded to a construction project for a report of a theft.

Theft: An officer responded to a report of stolen construction material.

Fraud: An officer responded to a Pinehurst Dr. residence on a report of a fraud. An information report was completed and the investigation is ongoing.

Hit & run: While at the Mesquite Police Department, officer spoke with a citizen regarding property damage Accident at a local casino. Driver information was obtained.

Lost property: An officer responded on a report of lost property. An information report was completed.

Controlled substance problem: Detectives issued an adult female with citation for loitering for the purpose in drug related activity.

Wanted person: Officers responded to a Sun Valley Dr. residence for a domestic disturbance. The investigation showed one of the family members had an active warrant out of Mesquite Municipal Court. The individual was taken into custody without incident.

Jan. 10:

Trespassing: Officer responded to an E. Pioneer Blvd. casino for a report of a trespass violator. One female was arrested for trespassing.

Trespassing: Officer responded to an E. Pioneer Blvd. casino for a report of a trespass violation. One female subject was issued a citation and released with a court date.

Theft: A male adult returned an item bought at a W. Mesquite Blvd. store. The male was given the money and did not return the item. Officers wrote a citation for the male.

Suicidal Person: Officers responded to a Sun Valley Dr. residence reference a suicidal person. One male was taken to the local hospital for medical evaluation.

Civil Matter: Officer responded to a local hospital reference a civil matter. Officer contacted a male subject who had been struck by a vehicle while the vehicle was exiting a private drive. Report was taken.

Suspicious person: Officers were dispatched to a Mesa Blvd. casino’s hotel, in reference to a suspicious situation.  Two adult male subjects were taken into custody for obstructing a public officer.

Controlled substance problem: Officers conducted a traffic stop for a traffic offense. One adult female had a warrant and was arrested for possession of heroin, driving on a suspended license, and an open container of alcohol.

Jan. 11:

Found property: Officers responded to a Ronnie Way residence reference found property.

Traffic accident w/o injury: Officers responded to a two vehicle, non-injury accident.

Property damage, non-vandalism: Officer responded to a Valley View Dr. school reference property damage.

Suspicious person: Officers responded to a local residence on a report of fraud.

Controlled substance problem: An officer conducted a traffic stop and observed signs of illegal activity. A drug sniffing K9 alerted to the vehicle and the driver was issued a citation for possession of drug paraphernalia.

Fraud: Detectives received information regarding a possible fraud.

Assault w/weapon: A male adult threatened an employee with a knife at an E. Pioneer Blvd. casino. The investigation is ongoing.

Domestic Violence: Officers responded to a Valley View Dr. residence for a report of a domestic dispute. One female adult was arrested for breach of peace.

Jan. 12:

Traffic stop: Officer conducted a traffic stop on a speeding vehicle. Driver was identified and arrested on traffic violations.

Traffic accident w/o injury: Officer responded to a local roadway for a report of a minor traffic accident.

Officer took a report and completed the required paperwork.

Trespassing: Officer contacted a male subject who had been recently trespassed and refused to leave. Male was issued a citation for the trespass violation and arrested on unrelated charges.

Wanted person: Officers located a female at a local business with warrants out of Mesquite Municipal Court. One female was taken into custody for the warrants, and charged with drug paraphernalia.

Hit & Run: An officer took a report of a hit and run traffic accident. The investigation is ongoing.

Traffic accident w/o injury: An officer took a report for a minor traffic accident without injuries.

Citizen assist: An officer took a report for a lost cell phone.

Traffic accident w/o injury: Officers responded to a single vehicle accident on private property. The driver was transported to Mesa View Hospital for an evaluation.

Traffic stop: An officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle, for a traffic violation.  The adult female driver was taken into custody for DUI for alcohol.

Jan. 13:

Lost property: Officers responded to a Mesa Blvd. casino to take a report of lost property.

Fraud: Officers responded to the Mesquite Police Department to take a fraud report.

Missing person: Officers spoke with a female adult about her daughter taking her vehicle.

Controlled substance problem: An officer conducted a traffic stop for a violation. With the assistance of a drug sniffing K9, drugs were located in the driver’s possession and in the vehicle. The male driver was arrested for trafficking methamphetamine. The female passenger was arrested for possession of heroin.

Battery on person: Officers responded to a local hotel, in reference to a battery.
