Many calls that the Police Department receives are not always included in the blotter, as they are under investigation or a synopsis is not received. To show the amount of work our PD does do, we are including a weekly roster of stats. This week, there were 132 total incidents in the blotter:

Editor’s note: The following was taken from the pages of the Mesquite Police Department blotter from April 9-15.

April 9

Animal Bite: Man was bitten in the hand by a stray grey cat.

Lost Property: Police took a report for a lost firearm.

Traffic Accident w/ Damage: Officers responded to a vehicle accident hit and run at a local casino. Upon arrival reporting person stated witnessing a vehicle hit his trailer and bend the fender. The RP stated him and casino employees tried to get the vehicle to stop but it left the property.

Verbal Dispute IP: A male subject was arrested for breach of peace. He was transported to the detention center and booked on the aforementioned charge.

April 10

Theft: An officer completed a report of a theft at an East Pioneer Boulevard casino.

Property Damage, Non Vandalism: Police took a report for graffiti placed on the trail system.

Vandalism: Police took a report for vandalism to a vehicle.

Property Damage, Non Vandalism: Officer responded to a Riverside Road residence on a report of property damage. Spoke with reporting party about vehicle rear window being broken. Officer took photos and an incident was created.

Phone Harassment: An officer completed a report in reference to harassment.

Lost Property: Police took a report for a lost identification card.

Theft: An officer responded to a West Pioneer Boulevard business reference a theft. Information was gathered and a citation was served

Property Damage, Non Vandalism: Officer responded to Falcon Ridge Parkway at I-15 on a report of property damage. NHP was notified of damage and will respond.

Property Damage, Non Vandalism: An officer completed a report for property damage to a residence

Theft: Police took a report for theft of golf clubs on Lolita Lane.

Lost Property: An officer completed a report of lost property.

Traffic Accident w/ Injuries: A female driver was cited for causing a three vehicle accident.

April 11

Property Damage, Non Vandalism: Police took a report for graffiti on the trail system. The incident is under active investigation.

Wanted person: Detectives arrested a male who had a warrant out of Mesquite Municipal Court.

Theft: An officer responded to a West Pioneer Boulevard business reference a previous theft.

Miscellaneous CAD Call Record: Police took a report for a welfare check.

Recovered Stolen Property: Officer responded to a Riverside Road address to verify a report in which a stolen bicycle was recovered. Upon arrival the bicycle was in the owner’s possession and verified by the serial number.

Verbal Dispute IP: Officers responded to an East Pioneer Boulevard local convenience store for a report of a verbal argument between a male and a female. Both individuals agreed to go their separate ways for the night and cool off.

April 12

Suicide: An adult male was found in a vehicle with a gunshot to the head. Investigation is on-going.

Wanted person: Officer responded to Interstate 15 at Mile Marker 112 in reference to an individual with an active bench warrant. Individual was arrested and transported to the Mesquite Detention Center without incident

Suspicious Person/Circumstance: Local citizen wanted to report her name had been used to open a trading account. Account was closed with no loss of money.

Traffic Stop: An officer stopped a vehicle for a traffic offense.  The driver was taken into custody for DUI-Alcohol (1st offense) and a traffic offense.

April 13

Suspicious Person/Circumstance: An officer received information about a fraudulent cash receipt from a casino.

Traffic accident W/O injury: Officer responded to the Police Department in reference to an accident on a Falcon Ridge Parkway. Information was gathered and insurance was exchanged.

Attempt to Locate: Officer made contact with vehicle/occupants Metro was looking for. Information passed on to Metro.

April 14

Lost Property: Officer responded to a Mayan Circle residence reference missing documents. A report was taken and investigation is ongoing.

Theft: Officer responded to a report of stolen property on Mayan Circle. The item was listed as stolen in the database, but victim declined to complete a written statement at this time.

Domestic Violence IP: Officers were dispatched to a store parking lot, in reference to a fight in progress. Two adult female subjects were taken into custody for domestic battery.

April 15:

Property Damage, Non Vandalism: Police took a report for damage to a yield sign.

Verbal Dispute IP: Officers responded to a Links Drive residence reference a verbal dispute between two adult males. An information report was taken.

Animal Noise: Officers responded to a barking dog complaint. Upon arrival the officer could hear the dog barking from a distance away. The reporting person had call on three separate occasions’ with the same complaint. At this time the RP reported wanting sign a citation against the dog owner.
