Many calls that the Police Department receives are not always included in the blotter, as they are under investigation or a synopsis is not received. To show the amount of work our PD does do, we are including a weekly roster of stats.

Editor’s note: The following was taken from the pages of the Mesquite Police Department blotter for Aug. 30-Sept. 5, 2015.

Aug. 30:

Theft: Officers responded to a N Sandhill Blvd pharmacy reference a theft.  A report was taken and an investigation continues.

Phone Harassment: Officers responded to a Mesa Blvd residence for a disturbance, and adult male was cited for possession of drug paraphernalia.

Theft: An Officer responded to an Angels Landing Trail residence and took a report of the theft of items taken from a vehicle. Information was received and a theft report completed.

Civil Matter: An Officer responded to a Bobcat Run residence, reference a civil situation. Both parties were informed of the process to handle their situation.

Runaway Juvenile: Officers responded to a report of a missing juvenile on Second South St. A report was taken and officers attempted to locate her.

Fighting IP: A female was battered after pulling up to a friend’s Moss Dr residence. The assailants have been identified and attempts to make contact with them are ongoing. The victim was not seriously injured.

Aug. 31:

Juvenile Problem: Officer responded to a Valley View Dr school for a juvenile incident.

Civil Matter: An officer responded to a Villa La Paz Dr Subdivision, reference a dispute between home owners concerning shrubs that separate two different Home Owners Associations. The manner is being handled by the property management companies.

Sept. 1:

Fraud: An officer took a report of an attempted credit card fraud. The attempt was discovered prior to card being issued. Report as a matter of information.

Missing Person: Officers responded to a W Hafen Ln residence in reference to two juveniles who were missing. Officers later located the female juveniles and both were issued citations for curfew violation, and then released to their parents.

Sept. 2:

Suspicious/Vehicle: Adult male 31 years of age was found with two female minors loitering in the N Lower Flat Top Drive park while drinking alcohol.

Wanted Person: Officers arrested a female on Pinnacle Ct who had a no bail warrant out of the Clark County Eighth Judicial District Court.

Animal Bite: Officer responded to the hospital on a reported dog bite. Parents did not want to pursue charges.

Weapon Offense IP: Officers responded to an Eagle St residence for a report of gun shots. One adult male was cited for discharging a firearm within the city limits.

Sept. 3:

Traffic accident W/O injury: Officers responded to a traffic collision on W Mesquite Blvd. The drivers moved their vehicles into a parking lot. Driver exchange forms were completed and a citation was issued.

Suspicious Person/Circumstance: Mesquite Officers responded to a local office reference a suspicious circumstance. Officers gathered information and an investigation will be conducted.

Wanted Person: Officers contacted an adult male on Bertha Howe Ave with an active Mesquite Municipal court warrant. The male was arrested on the warrant.

Attempt to Locate: Mesquite Officers were dispatched to attempt to locate (ATL) a missing person from Las Vegas, NV. Officers circulated the Mesquite area and were unable to locate. Mesquite Officers will continue to ATL for the missing person.

Phone Harassment: Police responded to a Carrara Ct residence reference a report of possible harassment. The officer spoke to all parties involved and determined there was only a miscommunication.

Threatening: An officer was dispatched to a Kelkim St residence, in reference to threats made to the reporting person a couple of days before.

Sept. 4:

Phone Harassment: An officer responded to the police department reference a report of harassment at work. An officer’s report was completed and the complainant was referred to the Nevada Equal Rights Commission.

Driving Under the Influence: Officers conducted a traffic stop on N Sandhill Blvd on a vehicle that was reported to be driven by an intoxicated driver. The adult male was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol and several traffic violations.

Identification Check: An officer was dispatched to an E Pioneer Blvd casino, in reference to a minor gambling call.  Two juveniles were later cited and released, to their guardian, for minor gambling.

Burglary: Residents on W Hafen Ln returned to their condominium to find multiple items stolen such as furniture and house hold items. A report was taken.

Sept. 5:

Theft: An Officer responded to an E Pioneer Blvd Casino, for a report of copper stolen from the maintenance area. Evidence was gathered and a report taken. Investigation continues.

Vandalism: An officer responded to a Condor St residence reference a report for vandalism.  A report was taken.

Battery on Person: Officers responded to a fight at a Mesa Blvd casino/hotel.  Following an investigation one female was issued a citation for battery and released with a court date.

Burglary: Couple went on vacation. When they returned they found their home on Heather Ct was burglarized.

Driving Under the Influence: Officer observed a vehicle driving in the wrong direction on Falcon Ridge Pkwy & I15 NB and without the head lamps on. After investigation the driver was taken into custody for driving under the influence.
