The Mesquite Rotary and Beaver Dam Interact Club members held their car wash/fundraiser on Saturday, April 1.

After the wind and rains hit Mesquite on Thursday and Friday, March 30 and 31 , Mesquite residents flocked to the car washes Saturday morning to rinse away the dust that had settled on their vehicles but were met with long lines and a lengthy wait.

Linda Gault, Director of the Beaver Dam Interact Club and Rotarian Member said, “Kathy Lee was here a bit ago and told us the car washes around town are swamped. She told me she was going to make the rounds and let people know we were here. It must have worked because we’ve gotten a steady stream of customers since.”

The cost of the car wash was whatever the good folks of Mesquite wanted to donate and they donated generously.

The car wash is generally held to help raise funds, in part, for Rotary District Annual ‘SuperBuild’ International Service Project.  The project usually involves Rotary and Interact Club members to travel to Mexico and build a home for a less fortunate and very deserving family.

This year the Rotary members didn’t have enough chaperones to make the trip but funds from the car wash will be spent wisely on other Rotary and Interact Club projects as well putting some in reserve for next year’s ‘SuperBuild’ and continuing with their Beaver Dam High/Jr. High School Beautification Project.

Join the Mesquite Rotary as they muddy themselves, and other community members, up good in their Fourth Annual Mudd Volleyball Tournaments which are scheduled for Saturday, April 29, 10 a.m. at the Eureka Casino Resort.
