Janice Jones, 65, passed away unexpectedly March 16, 2017 in Mesquite, NV. She was born Nov. 7, 1951 in Las Vegas, NV to Charles Hale & Vera (Lee) Woods.

Janice lived her entire life in Mesquite. She spent 1 year at Southern UT State College before going to cosmetology school in Logan, UT. She married Lyle Jones of Littlefield, AZ and had three children. After they divorced, she remained in Mesquite. She began working as the Lunch Room Coordinator for the Littlefield School. Eventually she found her true calling working as the Evidence/Records Clerk for the Mesquite Police Department.

Her love for her children was only rivaled by her love for her police officers and co-workers. She retired in 2015, and enjoyed spending time with her family and grandchildren. She was a pillar of the community and spent countless hours volunteering at church, school & community functions, as well as the National Night Out with the MPD.

She was loved by all, and spent her life in the service to others.

She is survived by her children: Jamie & Staci Jones (Mesquite, NV), Kent (Lindy) Jones (Diamond Bar, CA); grandchildren: Ian, Wyatt & Emmett Jones (Diamond Bar, CA); and her brother: Charles Val (Carol) Woods (Mesquite, NV).

Funeral Services will be held Saturday, March 25, 2017 at the LDS Stake Center: 100 N Arrowhead, Mesquite, NV. There will be a viewing Saturday morning from 9-11:30 followed by funeral services at 12pm. Interment will immediately follow at the Mesquite City Cemetery.
