burglary-arrests-12-1-16On Tuesday, Nov. 22, Mesquite Police Detectives were able to conclude multiple burglary, theft, and stolen vehicle investigations by making contact with a suspect and taking him into custody in Mesquite.

Over the past few weeks, the Mesquite Police Department has been investigating a rash of burglaries, thefts from vehicles, and stolen vehicles. Detectives have been working overtime processing many crime scenes and collecting evidence, while proactively working multiple cases they believed to be tied to the same suspects.

Erik Rasmusson, 35, of Las Vegas, NV, was arrested and charged with two felony counts of burglary, one felony count of unlawful use of a credit card without owner’s consent, and two felony counts of possession of a gun by a prohibited person.

Rasmusson was also actively being sought by law enforcement throughout Clark County for a felony arrest warrant out of the Las Vegas Justice Court involving a home invasion robbery and kidnapping involving a firearm.

Mesquite detectives are still actively investigating and processing a large amount of property and evidence related to the rash of burglary and stolen vehicle cases which recently occurred in Mesquite. Additional charges will be filed on Rasmusson once all of the investigations are completed. He is also being investigated and may face additional charges in the St. George, Utah area which may be related to the Mesquite Police investigation.

Due to the felony charges, Rasmusson was transported and booked into the Clark County Detention Center in Las Vegas, Nevada.
