Dear Editor,
I’d like to express my appreciation to the officers of the Mesquite Police Department for responding to a number of calls regarding the aggressive behavior of several people approaching voters waiting in line in an effort to obtain signatures on a petition. The issue was handled very professionally by the officers even though one of the people involved continued to argue. Every citizen should be able to cast their vote without being accosted. Once again, I give many thanks to the Mesquite Police Department for their response to citizens’ concerns and enforcement of election laws.

I also experienced the same here in Henderson NV. I was mad The guy insisted I sign a petition I did not read. I did because he was aggressive I do not remember in the past ever experiencing anything like that you could smell the liquor on his breath and he kept saying I need to get paid. Well I think the way our country has been run since forever no jobs too many people coming in here taking our jobs etc. for along time with the liberal policies that were implemented in the 60’s. Hopefully will be gone. The man was white and about 35-40 years of age. I feel sorry for people really Hopefully things willchange. I know that I’m retired but also working and it is very unbalanced still it has for a long time. At least we are in the right direction. Carole L. Rawlings
