The Virgin Valley High School soccer gals fell to Western High School Warriors 2-1 Thursday November 3 in Las Vegas. The Bulldogs came out strong against a tough Warrior team. The Bulldogs took an early lead at the 13 minute mark on a Kalli Graves free kick. The Dawgs held the lead throughout the first half. The Warriors tied the match at the 57 minute mark when Allyson Reynada broke free on an apparent off side call and scored goal. The Warriors clinched the match on a Adelina Jasso goal over the Bulldog goalkeeper from 35 yards out. The win moved the Warriors to the state playoffs for the first time in their history. Bulldog coach Bob Snell’s Bulldog team ended the season 12-7-3 despite a slow start to the season. Their 8-1-1 league record earned the gals a second spot in 3A Sunrise League play. “This will be a tough one (loss) to get over,” said Coach Snell.

The Virgin Valley soccer guys meanwhile were shut out 7-0 in their playoff match against Sunrise Mountain High School Tuesday Nov. 1 in Las Vegas. The loss dropped their season record to 3-13-1 in coach Chris Park’s first year at the helm.
