The Virgin Valley High School Lady bulldogs kept their championships hopes alive Monday afternoon defeating Mojave High School 3-0 at Moapa Valley. The Rattlers cane into the match as the #2 seed from the 3A Sunset Conference but fell easily to the Lady Dawgs in three straight sets. The Bulldogs may be the second best team in 3A Southern Division play but have the unenviable task of facing # 1 seed Moapa Valley High School Pirates Wednesday afternoon in Boulder City. The Pirates also dispatched Western High School 3-0 Wednesday afternoon. The Bulldogs will have to play their best volleyball of the season to get by the Pirates who dropped the Lady Dawgs 3-0 and 3-1 during Sunrise League play.

The Bulldogs won the first set 25-18 over the Rattlers behind Emma Barnum’s six kills and Calee Clem’s 12 assists. Bernice Fiso stepped up in the second set with six kills. Clem added 11 more assists. The rattled Rattlers fell apart in the third set as Fiso had 8 kills to lead the Dawgs to a 25-11 win. Clem added another 11 assists for the victorious Dawgs.
