It’s been a long year for Mesquite Works, but the ball is rolling at a steady pace as they are just over a month away from their target opening date of Dec. 1 in their office at 312 W. Mesquite Blvd. Suite 102 next to the Virgin Valley Food Bank on the backside of Mesquite Plaza. At the Oct. 18 meeting, Executive Directors Burton Weast and George Gault reported some encouraging news to the board.

The office is about 660 square feet and needs some remodeling before they can move in. “It’s in tough shape,” Gault said. “It started as a beauty salon and then a dog grooming place, so we have our work cut out for us.” According to bids received already, it appears that it will take some money to get that done.
