Police Blotter Aug. 28- Sept. 3, 2016
Many calls that the Police Department receives are not always included in the blotter, as they are under investigation or a synopsis is not received. To show the amount of work our PD does do, we are including a weekly roster of stats. This week, there were 152 total incidents in the blotter:

Aug. 28:

Suspicious Person/Circumstance: An officer responded to a W. Mesquite Blvd. hotel on a report of a possible theft. The circumstances surrounding the incident were suspicious and there was no evidence to support the claim of theft.
Theft from Vehicle: Police responded to a theft from a vehicle on W. Hafen Ln.
Theft: Officer responded to Walmart on a report of theft.  Upon arrival officer placed two adult females under arrest for petit larceny.
Traffic accident W/O injury: Officers responded to a traffic accident at the north round a bout on Falcon Ridge Parkway.

Aug. 29:

Domestic Violence IP: Female on Sandbar St. was taken into custody for domestic battery first offence.
Agency Assistance: An Officer took a report of a stolen vehicle. Information was received concerning the theft and a report completed.
Found Property: A citizen turned in a vehicle key that was found in the roadway. Key placed into property for safe keeping.
Theft:  An Officer responded to a Hardy Way Storage unit facility and took a report of the break in of a storage unit and the theft of property. Report was taken and the crime is being investigated.
Agency Assistance: Officers responded to a medical assist at a Moss Dr. apartment complex.
Recovered Stolen Property: An Officer took a report from another agency of property recovered, that had been stolen from Mesquite.
Traffic Stop:  An officer conducted a traffic stop, a citation was issued for an open container violation.
Possessing/Consuming: An officer conducted an investigative stop on one adult male at a Second South St. park.  The male was in possession and had been consuming alcohol in the park.  The officer issued him a citation and released him with a court date.

 

Aug. 30:

Lost Property: Male subject reported losing his wallet at a local casino.
Minor Possessing/Consuming: An officer located one adult male sleeping at a Second South St. park past curfew.  The male was in possession and had been consuming alcohol in the park.  The officer issued him a citation and released him with a court date.
Minor Gambling: An Officer responded to an E. Pioneer Blvd. Casino for a reported minor found to be gambling. Male was identified and issued a citation for minor gambling.
Fraud: An Officer responded to the Police department and took a report of fraud concerning a property management company.
Property Damage, Non Vandalism: An Officer responded to a W. Pioneer Blvd. business parking lot for a report of property damage to a parked vehicle. A report was taken and a suspect identified. The incident is under investigation.
Fraud: An Officer responded to a local business and took a report concerning a civil action, concerning another business who did not provide services paid for.
Information Report: Officer spoke with a citizen regarding possible stolen property.  Officer gathered all information and will forward information to detectives.
Threatening: Officers responded to the police station on a report of threats.
Domestic Trouble:  Officers responded to a Mesquite Springs Dr. residence reference a possible suicidal female.  Upon arrival the female had left on foot.  The female later returned, and was arrested for domestic battery.

Aug. 31:

Disorderly Conduct: Officers were responding to another call when flagged down by a Mesa Blvd.  apartment complex employee. The employee was requesting assistance with an intoxicated  male subject
Domestic Trouble: Officers responded to Calais Dr. on  a report of a domestic dispute that was no longer in progress. A written statement was gathered, and the investigation is ongoing.
Property Damage, Non Vandalism: An officer responded to a W. Mesquite Blvd. casino for a report of graffiti in the parking garage. The time frame for the graffiti was approximately two weeks. Photographs were taken and the investigation is ongoing.
Controlled Substance Problem: Officers responded to a Mesa Blvd. apartment complex for a dispute among roommates. Both parties were separated and interviewed. One male subject was found in possession of drug paraphernalia and was arrested.
Driving Under the influence: Officers responded to a traffic accident on Sidewinder Dr. and Falcon Ridge Pkwy. One adult female was arrested for DUI, open container of alcohol, and traffic related offenses.
Sept. 1:

Wanted person:  Detectives arrested a male who had a misdemeanor warrant(s) out of Mesquite Municipal Court.
Suicidal Person:  Officers responded to a report of a suicidal subject in the front parking lot of the police department.  Officers were able to take the subject into custody without injury and he was transported to Mesa View Hospital for psychological evaluation.
Lost Property:  An officer was dispatched to the police department, in reference to a lost property report.
Trespassing IP:  Police responded to a trespass violator at a casino. One adult female was issued a citation for trespassing and released with a court date.

Sept. 2:

Lost Property: Police responded to a report of a missing firearm. A report was taken and the firearm was entered into NCIC.
Traffic Accident w/ Injuries: Officers responded on a three vehicle traffic collision in the intersection of Sandhill Boulevard and Oldmill Road.
Suicidal Person:  Officer Responded to the Fire Station one to assist with a suicidal subject. One individual was transported to Mesa View.
Trespassing IP: Officer responded to a local casino for a report of a trespass violator. A female was arrested for trespassing.
Traffic accident W/O injury:  Officers responded to a traffic accident with no reported injuries and an accident report was completed.
Traffic Stop:  An officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for traffic offenses. The female driver was found to be under the influence of alcohol. She was arrested for DUI-Alcohol (1st offense) and transported to the Mesquite Detention Center.

Sept. 3:

Controlled Substance Problem: An officer responded to an E. Pioneer Blvd. casino, in reference to a suspicious situation. One adult male was arrested for drug paraphernalia.
Theft:  An Officer responded to a W. Pioneer Blvd. store for a report of petit larceny. A female offender was issued a citation and released with a Court date.
Battery on Person: Officers responded to a report of a confrontation between two adults on Turtle Cr. One adult female requested to sign a citation for battery against one adult male. The adult male was cited and released with a court date.
Domestic Trouble: Officers responded to a report of a domestic disturbance.  After an investigation, it the disturbance had only been verbal.
