Police Blotter Aug. 21-27, 2016
Many calls that the Police Department receives are not always included in the blotter, as they are under investigation or a synopsis is not received. To show the amount of work our PD does do, we are including a weekly roster of stats. This week, there were 140 total incidents in the blotter:

Aug. 21:

Trespassing IP: Officer responded to a trespass in progress on W. Mesquite Blvd. One adult male was cited and released without incident.
Person On Foot: Officer observed an adult male walking across the street other than a crosswalk. Upon contact officer determined the male was intoxicated and placed him under arrest.
Domestic Violence: Officers responded to report of a domestic battery on N. Sandhill Blvd.  Upon further investigation the male subject was taken into custody.
Domestic Violence:  Male subject was taken into custody on Mesa Blvd. for domestic battery, and possession of a concealed firearm.

Aug. 22:

Theft from Vehicle: Officer spoke with a resident on N. Grapevine Rd. regarding items removed from her vehicle.  Officer obtained information and a report was taken.
Theft: Officer responded to the lobby of the police department regarding a theft. Officer met with the victim and an incident was created.
Theft: Officers responded to a report of a theft from a vehicle on Rivers Bend Dr.
Fraud: Officers responded to a W. Mesquite Blvd. casino regarding multiple restaurant bills that were not paid for. One adult female was cited for defrauding an innkeeper.
Parking Problem: Officer impounded a vehicle on Cherokee St. and Sioux Cir. which had been tagged with a 24 hour sticker the previous day.
Aug. 23:

Found Property: Officer found a men’s wallet in the parking lot of a local business.  Officer placed wallet in safe keeping and will attempt to contact the owner.
Lost Property: An Officer took a report of a lost wallet. Information was received and report completed.
Wanted Person: Detectives arrested a male who had a warrant out of Mesquite Municipal Court.
Lost Property: An Officer took a report of a missing license plate. The plate was reported as lost.
Aug. 24:

Found Property: A citizen located an air pistol along the roadway on Kitty Hawk Dr. Officer placed it in safekeeping.

Aug. 25:
Theft: A Wal-Mart employee reported a theft of property from work on W. Pioneer Blvd. Another employee had taken the victim’s property without permission. An investigation is ongoing.
Domestic Trouble: Officers responded to a possible domestic situation on Hillside Dr.  After an investigation, it was deemed to be a verbal argument only.
Agency Assistance: An officer was dispatched to a Mesa Blvd. residence in reference to an agency assist.  Residents near this location where reporting a strange odor coming from this residence.  An adult male subject was later taken into custody for breach of peace and obstructing a public officer.
Aug. 26:

Traffic Stop: An officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle, for a minor traffic offense. The driver of the vehicle, an adult male subject, was taken into custody for DUI-Alcohol (first offense).
Traffic accident W/O injury: Officers responded to a traffic accident on Sandhill Blvd. and Hillside Dr. with minor damage to both vehicles. A report was taken.

Aug. 27:

Traffic Stop: Officers stopped a vehicle on I-15 for minor traffic offenses.  The adult male driver was issued a citation and verbal warnings.
Domestic Trouble: Officers responded to a domestic argument at a Pulispher Ln. residence. It was determined that a crime had not occurred.
Domestic Trouble: Officer responded to the hospital for a report of an assault on Joseph St.  Officer took a report of domestic violence and the offender will be arrested when located.
Traffic accident W/O injury: Officer responded to a traffic accident with minor damage to vehicles only. A report was taken.
Verbal Dispute: An Officer responded on a verbal family argument on W. Mesquite Blvd. The Officer remained on scene while the male half obtained his property and left the residence.
Theft: An officer responded to the police station for a telephonic report of a lost or stolen watch. There is no offender information and it is unknown if the watch was stolen or lost.
Traffic Stop: An officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for various moving violations. The adult male driver was arrested for DUI, possession of cocaine, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, and minor traffic offenses.
Fighting: Officers responded to a Mesa Blvd. apartment complex on a report of a fight in progress. One male victim received serious injuries and was transported to the hospital. Three additional victims were treated at the scene with minor injuries. One male offender was arrested on felony charges and transported to the Clark County Detention Center.
Suspicious Person/Circumstance: Officers were dispatched to a Hafen Ln. park in reference to a suspicious
situation.
