On August 5, Mesquite Police Officers were dispatched to Iron Mountain Cleaners to investigate a robbery which had just occurred. A suspect had walked into the business, walked behind the cash register, and forcefully removed cash from under the register. The suspect then ran to his vehicle and sped away. The victim and witnesses were able to provide responding officers with the vehicle license plate and description of the suspect.
The suspect’s vehicle was then located at one of the local casinos, and officers located the suspect inside gambling. Officers made contact with the suspect and were able to safely take him into custody.
Tom Starrett, 51, of Henderson Nevada, was arrested and charged with one felony count of robbery, one felony count of burglary, and one misdemeanor count of possession of drug paraphernalia.
Due to the felony charges, Starrett was transported and booked into the Clark County Detention Center in Las Vegas Nevada.
