Interstate 15 was shut down for a short time Monday afternoon, July 18 as two occupants of a Chevrolet Camaro involved in a single-vehicle rollover were flown to Dixie Regional Medical Center. The men sustained serious injuries.
The driver, 39-year-old Marcelino of Beaver Dam, Ariz. And his passenger, 38-year-old Clinton Johnson of Cedar City, Utah were not wearing restraints at the time of the incident.
According to Arizona Department of Public Safety Sergeant John Bottoms, witnesses told authorities that the vehicle was speeding when it lost control and entered the median at milepost seven, rolling and ejecting both men. Reports from other media suggest that the rear tire had blown, causing the incident.
