Many calls that the Police Department receives are not always included in the blotter, as they are under investigation or a synopsis is not received. To show the amount of work our PD does do, we are including a weekly roster of stats. This week, there were 156 total incidents in the blotter:

June 5:

Controlled Substance Problem: An officer observed a suspicious male jaywalking late at night and walking behind a residence on First North St. and Sandhill Blvd. An investigative stop was conducted and the male was found to be in possession of drug paraphernalia and methamphetamine. The adult male was arrested for the traffic offense, possession of drug paraphernalia, and ITS drugs.
Theft: An officer responded to a West Pioneer Blvd. store for a report of the theft of items from the store. Information was obtained and a report completed.
Found Property: Officer found a bag containing personal items in the parking lot of an E. Pioneer Blvd. restaurant.  The officer was unable to locate the owner and the property was placed in the Mesquite Police Evidence Vault for safe keeping.
Wanted Person: Officers made contact with a male adult on E. Pioneer Blvd. who has an active arrest warrant. The warrant was confirmed and the subject was arrested without incident.
Citizen Assist: Police took a report for a lost wallet.
Traffic accident W/O injury: Officers were dispatched to W. Mesquite Blvd. for a non-injury accident. A report was completed.

June 6:

Lost Property: Officer responded to a Pulsipher Ln. apartment complex on a report of lost property.
Hit & Run: Officers responded to a W. Mesquite Blvd. parking lot where citizens were reporting a hit and run accident.
Burglary: Officers responded to a report of a burglary on Bannock St., detectives are investigating.
Lost Property: Officer responded to the Mesquite Detention Center regarding a lost wallet. Owner stated she lost the wallet today somewhere between Las Vegas and Mesquite. Officer obtained all information and a report was taken.
Recovered Stolen Vehicle: Mesquite Police was notified of a recovered vehicle that had been reported stolen from Mesquite. Vehicle owner was notified.
Civil Matter: Officers responded to a custodial dispute at a W. Hafen Ln. apartment complex.
Controlled Substance Problem: Officers responded to an E. Pioneer Blvd. casino for an individual who was to be trespassed. The individual was found in possession of drug paraphernalia and arrested.

June 7:

Civil Matter: An Officer took a report concerning a civil dispute over property matters. Report taken as a matter of record.

June 8:

Citizen Assist: An officer responded to a citizen who has had her number used for robo calls.

June 9:

Alarm: Officers responded to a N. Sandhill Blvd. business alarm, where the business had unsecured doors. It appeared as if someone had entered the building but no property appeared to be stolen.  An investigation continues.
Theft: An officer responded to a N. Sandhill Blvd. supermarket to a take a report of a stolen gum ball machine.
Traffic accident W/O injury: Officer responded to a minor vehicle accident that occurred on private property. Officer completed a driver’s exchange form.
Suspicious Person/Circumstance:  Officer took a report on Piute St. of a possible sexual assault that occurred several days ago.
Traffic accident W/O injury: Officer responded to a report of a traffic accident on Falcon and Condor Streets. Officer took the report and completed a driver’s exchange form.
Wanted Person: Detectives arrested a male who had a warrant out of Mesquite Municipal Court.
Suicidal Person: Officers responded to the cemetery reference an attempted suicide.  An adult male had stabbed himself and was bleeding.  Mesquite Fire Department arrived and transported the male to the hospital.
Unknown Problem: Officers responded to a home on Eagle St. in reference to a verbal domestic dispute. Both parties were separated and agreed to remain separated for the remainder of the night.

June 10:

Traffic Stop: An officer conducted a traffic stop on Whitey Lee Ln and Riverside Rd. for an equipment violation. The driver was found to be under the influence of alcohol. The driver was arrested for DUI and booked at the Mesquite Detention Center.
Follow Up Investigation: Officer attempted to contact an individual on Riverside Rd. who has not registered with the police department.
Hit & Run:  Officer took a report of a hit and run accident that occurred several days ago in a casino parking lot. Incident number was given for insurance purposes.
Welfare Check: Officer responded to Poppy Ln. for a welfare check; the subject to be checked on was found deceased.
Found Property: Officer responded to the police department reference found property. Citizen wants to turn in a ring found outside the food bank. Ring was secured in the vault.

June 11:

Suspicious/Person: Police responded to a report of an adult male sleeping on the sidewalk on W Mesquite Blvd. Officers spoke with the individual who became belligerent and was taken into custody for breach of peace.
Agency Assistance: Officers responded to an agency assist for medical at a Mesa Blvd.  apartment complex.
