The next meeting of the Mesquite Caregivers Support Group will feature Nina Ferrell who will give a presentation on the causes and de-escalation of problem behaviors in dementia as well as helping seniors with depression.

The meeting will be held June 9 from 2-3 p.m. at the First Baptist Church at 700 Hardy Way and is open to the public.

Ferrell has a Masters in Psychometrics and Counseling from the University of Colorado and is a Relations and Geriatric Behavioral Health Professional in the greater Salt Lake City area. She currently works at the Salt Lake Behavioral Health center.

This non-denominational free workshop provides information on topics of importance for those concerned about caring for a person with any illness, focusing on memory loss care, dementia and Alzheimer’s disease.

A breakout session dealing with individual concerns and small group support will be available from 3-4 p.m. the same day.
