Crews are on schedule to complete a majority of a 13-mile paving project along Interstate 15, from just north of Mesquite to the Nevada state line, by the end of next week. This work will require construction delays of up to an hour Friday(June 3) and Monday (June 6) through Friday (June 10), from 5 a.m. to 6 p.m. One travel lane will remain open overnight in each direction, according to the Arizona Department of Transportation.
Paving will continue along the shoulders, off the main roadway, June 13 through June 17. Motorists should expect delays of up to 15 minutes for this work. The final lane striping will take place in mid- July.
With limited alternate routes through this corridor, drivers should plan ahead, allow extra travel time, slow down and drive carefully through the work zone, and be alert for construction equipment and personnel.
The $10.4 million project includes paving a 13-mile stretch of roadway (mileposts 0 to 13), replacing a bridge barrier, sealing the existing bridge deck and installing new guardrail.
