Rye Brothers are a “power-pop” rock/country act, mixing contemporary country music and rock n roll, guitar-driven songs. They will be playing at the CasaBlanca Showroom June 2-5.
The group is led by Paul Justin and Justin Foutz, who trade off on the lead vocals and guitar licks. Justin and Foutz formed Rye Brothers in the summer of 2015 and quickly added a solid rhythm section consisting of Michael Gunn (bass, backing vocals) and Jeff Sorenson (drums, backing vocals) to round out this Southern California-based “power-pop” quartet.
The Rye Brothers love for rock-n-roll led them to keep it simple and pure: two guitars, bass and drums. They have been raising cane in the honkytonks, bars, casinos and concert halls of California, Arizona, and Nevada and have earned a reputation as a high-energy, kick-a@@ “power- pop” original country band.
Tuesday you don’t want to miss the Virgin Valley Artist’s Brown Bag Luncheon. The presentation scheduled is ‘First Flight- Hummingbirds.’
Noriko and Don Carroll have been exploring the world of nature through photography. Their hummingbird journey has been continuing for 10 years after the project came to roost on their back porch.
You can enjoy the world of hummingbirds free of charge. Just bring a lunch and join the crowd at the Mesquite Fine Arts Gallery Tuesday, June 7 at noon; bring a friend, they’re free too.
The summer is here and the splash pad at Hafen Park is open for business. Water surface mount jets and river runnels all provide great ways to enjoy the summer and stay cool. Best of all, the facility is free!
Children must be supervised at all times and please no running in the splash pad area. There are many amenities around the park with shade structure, pavilion, fishing pond, tennis courts, a playground, picnic areas and open fields to play.
The splash pad is available from 9 a.m. – 9 p.m. Monday – Sunday, (seasonal) May 27 – Sept. 30, depending on weather. The Hafen Park Splash Pad is located at 450 Hafen Lane.
Send all your summer events to terin.bbm@gmail.com, I’ll help you get the word out.
