March has arrived and is nearly half over already. Many Mesquite residents know what that means… it’s time for the yearly green parade that requires good walking shoes, a smile and of course, green.

For the ninth year now, organizers are setting up for the St. Pat’s walk that starts at Peggy Sue’s Diner and ends at Stateline Casino.

Registration for the event will begin with a meeting at Peggy Sue’s, 380 N. Sandhill Blvd, at 9 a.m. and fee of $20. After a group photograph at 10 a.m., the participants will parade over to the Eureka Casino at 275 Mesa Blvd, then the Virgin River Casino, 100 W Pioneer Blvd, back to Peggy Sue’s, the Golden West Casino at 91 E. Mesquite Blvd before taking the longest trek to Stateline Casino, 490 W Mesquite Blvd for the final stop. There, they can enjoy traditional Irish libations and food for a donation.

For more information about the event, call 702-346-5752.

Drivers are encouraged to use caution during the event throughout Mesquite. Last year, the event brought 115 green walkers to the festivities.
