March 31, 2pm to 4pm at the Mesquite Fine Arts Gallery. As spring sweeps away winter doldrums, it’s time to gather to enjoy a cup of fine tea, revive friendships, make new friends and nibble delectable home-made goodies.
Tickets for the tea party are $20 per person, and a group of 4 may reserve a table for $80.
This is a unique opportunity to relive the day when “high tea” was a very special social event, with lovely china, crisp linens and happy chatter. Party guests also bolster the VVAA’s community arts program and scholarship fund through their attendance. Advance reservations are required, seating is limited, and tickets go on sale Feb 22 at the Gallery. No tickets will be available on the day of the event.
Guests are encouraged to dress for tea and wear their fanciest spring hat. Those who show off their “Best Hats” will vie for a splendid prize created by ceramics artist Gail Smith. Admission includes door prize drawings, and each guest receives a specially handcrafted tea party favor. The annual Artists and Poets Art Exhibition, opening in the Gallery that week, creates an artful backdrop for this event.
The Mesquite Fine Arts Gallery is operated by Virgin Valley Artists Association,
a 501c3 organization. It is funded by sale of original local artwork, grants from Nevada Arts Council and NEA Artworks, unique fundraising events, and the generous support of businesses, local organizations, and individuals. Gallery hours are Mon-Sat, 10a-4p.
VVAA offers an extensive community art education program, including exhibit and sales opportunity for artists, free student and introductory adult art lessons, art and pottery classes, lectures, concerts, social and cultural events.
