Music Jams started on the north side of Mesquite at Guns and Guitars about 4 ½ years ago. Now, they are being held at Stateline Casino, 490 W. Mesquite Blvd, twice a month. The first jam of the month, held on the first Thursday, is centered around electric music such as rock and blues, while the second jam held on the third Thursday will be acoustic with country, folk and bluegrass music. Both days start at 5 p.m. At their last jam on January 21, there were about 11 guitarists, one drummer and one harmonica joining in together while a healthy crowd filled the bar and cheered at the end of each song.
