DAVID MILLER WINS FOR THE FIRST TIME

Recent new member David Miller won first place low net on Tuesday at Falcon Ridge getting his first win as a MMGA and an early Christmas present to himself.  He started on the first hole with a birdie four for a front nine 39 and played steady on the difficult back nine recording six pars for a total of 81 and a net 68.  Ben Bishop finished out 2015 with his third straight solid round of 86 and net 70 for second place.  Gary Denhalter (89) tied Bishop with his net 70 but triple bogeyed hole six for third.  Tom Durenberger (85) and net 71 won the fourth spot.  Tim Bergstrom (92) tied Ed Hoepfner (87) with net 73 but Bergstrom won it when he went bogey, bogey and Hoepfner shot bogey, double bogey.  Andrew Yeh had no birdies on the front for a one over par 36.  Started the back nine with a birdie on 10 and 12.  He double bogeyed 13 and bogeyed 16, both due to penalty shots, but managed to shoot 75 for medalist.

HOEPFNER –  PETRICK TIE ON CHRISTMAS EVE

At the CasaBlanca on Christmas eve morning Ed Hoepfner played with the BIG elf Bubba Petrick.  Both managed to shoot the same round of 87.  But skinny elf Hoepfner’s handicap netted him a 74 and gave him his first present of the day first place low net.  Petrick had to settle for a tie for the “coal” ward with Minnesota’s Willie Nelson (95) both players netting a 76. Petrick shot bogey, double bogey, par to snatch the coal from Nelson or recorded a bogey, double bogey bogey for third.  Paul Le Van with an 85 got the last present with his net 79.  Andrew Yeh got the star on the top of the tree with his medalist 80.
