Santa and Mrs. Claus made another stop in Mesquite Saturday, Dec. 18 at the AM/PM gas station on Sandhill Boulevard to help raise money for a good cause. According to Kathy Pierce, the coordinator of the event and store manager, part of the proceeds raised from a $5 photo with Santa and Mrs. Claus will be going towards the 2016 Veterans Day Parade fund. Other local groups also came out to help with the event including Mesquite Elks Lodge #2811 and Danville Services assisted with distributing hot cocoa and cookies to visitors. There was also a free toy raffle available. “It was a huge success!” said Pierce. “We were able to raise $135 for the next Veterans Day Parade.”
