The Prescott Companies (Sun City Mesquite Homeowners’ Association) donated a check in the amount of $4,871.50 to the Southern Nevada Symphony Orchestra.
Presenting the check to Dr. Selmer Spitzer, orchestra conductor, center right, and Lila Williams, center left, events coordinator for the Southern Nevada Symphony Orchestra, is Lorraine Deshayes, left, membership and events coordinator for Sun City Mesquite Homeowners’ Association, and Deborah Demos, right, lifestyle director at Sun City Mesquite Homeowners’ Association.
Isn’t amazing how easy it is to be generous with other people’s money? Prescott keeps telling us how they don’t have enough monies to meet homeowner’s needs. Would have been nice to have been asked.
Unfortunately you didn’t take the time to find out these were private donations thru Sun City. No dues were used. Sun City does great work, but people jump to negative conclusions first. Please ask next time and you might be pleasantly surprised at how good and considerate the Sun City people truly people are.
Ya they raise our dues then give it away what’s with that ???
These were from private donations. No dues money used. Research before you sound foolish.
I didn’t see any comment in the news letter about where the money came from. Kinda funny how you folks won’t put your names up, spineless people.
Lee, some have reasons for choosing anonymity. I am not interested in having my name attached to comments when web searches are performed, which is why I posted as Dave Z above. Many people in Sun City know me by that name, so that’s what’s important. If you think that is spineless based on your general response to Bill about “you folks”, I can’t help you.
However, you made an assumption just because you didn’t read it in the Sun City newsletter. That is pretty far reaching, and if you think that defends your ability to print an error, your wrong.
What’s further troubling is you didn’t post a retraction or an apology even though you were called out twice. Also, you could’ve made a simple call to check if it was important to you. No, you chose to become defensive and judgmental.
I am taking the time to call you out on this in the hope that you will acknowledge your error and exercise more caution next time. As I indicated in my comment above, the folks in Sun City do a great job. Give them the benefit of the doubt first, vs assume next time. Thanks for listening. – Dave Zeleniak
