Many calls that the Police Department receives are not always included in the blotter, as they are under investigation or a synopsis is not received. To show the amount of work our PD does do, we are including a weekly roster of stats.

Editor’s note: The following was taken from the pages of the Mesquite Police Department blotter for Nov. 22-28, 2015.

Nov. 22:

Disorderly Conduct IP: Officers responded to an E Pioneer Blvd casino and arrested a disorderly male for breach of peace and obstructing a public officer.

Trespassing IP: Officers responded to an E Pioneer Blvd casino for a report of two subjects in violation of trespass. Both subjects were issued citations for trespass violation and released with a court date.

Vandalism: Officer responded to a Riverside Rd residence reference a vandalism call.  A report and pictures were taken of the damaged vehicle.  The owner was provided with an incident number for insurance purposes.

Nov. 23:

Dead Body: Police responded to a death of natural causes on Sea Pines St.

Truancy: Officers responded to the high school for a truant student.

Truancy: Officers responded to the high school for a truant student.

Agency Assistance: Officers responded to a Gean St residence for an outside agency assist.

Truancy: Officers responded to the high school for a truant student.

Vandalism: An Officer responded to a report of graffiti on a fence at Falcon Ridge Pkwy & Hardy Way. The property owners were notified concerning having the graffiti removed. A report of vandalism was completed.

Fraud: An Officer took a telephone report of a suspicious circumstance concerning an elderly parent of the caller. The matter was investigated and found to be false.

Vandalism: An Officer responded to Moss Dr for a vandalism reference a softball to a window.

Traffic Stop: Officer observed a vehicle travelling at a high rate of speed in the residential area of S Grapevine Rd & Second South St and conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle. Contact was made with the driver and after further investigation the female driver was taken into custody for driving under the influence of alcohol and speeding.

Vandalism: Officers responded to a Hawk St residence for a report of vandalism. Upon arrival the RP reported his son’s vehicle was shot by what appeared to be a BB gun multiple times.

Nov. 24:

Search Warrant: The Mesquite Police Department SWAT Team executed a knock and announce search warrant of a Mesa Boulevard residence.

Search Warrant: Detectives executed a search warrant on a vehicle. Items of narcotics and paraphernalia were located.

Agency Assistance: Officers responded to Mesquite Mental Health for a report of a crime that occurred in another jurisdiction.

Nov. 25:

Driving Under the Influence: Officers responded to a report from anonymous call who reported a possible intoxicated driver. A traffic stop was conducted on the reported vehicle after a traffic violation was observed and after further investigation the female driver was taken into custody for driving under the influence of alcohol.

Hit & Run: Report taken for a hit and run vehicle that was parked and unattended on a Partridge Ln.

Fraud: Officers responded to a W Mesquite Blvd bank reference attempted check fraud. The subjects involved were in possession of a stolen vehicle and other stolen items. Two adult males and one adult female were arrested for possession of stolen vehicle, attempted check fraud, and several other offenses.

Traffic accident W/O injury: Officers responded to a Valley View Dr parking lot for a minor two vehicle non injury accident.

Vandalism: Report taken for vandalism on Falcon St to the complainant’s vehicle. Complainant requested the incident be a matter of record.

Hit & Run: Officer responded to Cascade Ave for a report of a hit and run involving damaged to a Uhaul auto transport trailer. One written statement was obtained from victim and the investigation is ongoing.

Controlled Substance Problem: An officer stopped a vehicle for a traffic offense and for littering.  All four occupants of the vehicle were found to be in possession of alcohol in a motor vehicle and illegal drugs.  All four occupants were charged with possession of marijuana and possession of an open container of alcohol in a motor vehicle.

Nov. 26:

Controlled Substance Problem: Officers stopped a vehicle for an equipment violation on N Sandhill Blvd. The male passenger was found in possession of Methamphetamines, drug paraphernalia, and had an outstanding warrant for his arrest.  The passenger was arrested for felony drug charges. The driver was issued a warning.

Fraud: Officer received a report of a possible fraud and the investigation is ongoing.

Domestic Violence IP: Officers responded to a domestic dispute at a W Mesquite Blvd casino. One adult male was arrested for domestic battery, possession of marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Nov. 27:

Identification Check: Officers responded to a E Pioneer Blvd casino and arrested a female for minor gambling and minor consumption.

Property Damage, Non Vandalism: Officer responded for a property damage report. Officer later located all involved parties and completed report.

Traffic Stop: Police stopped a vehicle on Falcon Ridge Pkwy for a registration violation. The driver was issued several traffic citations and the vehicle was impounded.

Theft: Officers responded to a Pebble Beach Dr residence reference a report of theft of a prescription. Details about the theft and possible suspect information was collected, and an officer’s report was completed.

Minor Gambling: Officer responded to an E Pioneer Blvd casino for a minor gambling complaint. A citation was issued and the suspect was released.

Theft: Police responded to a W Pioneer Blvd retail store reference two adult females suspected of shoplifting. One female was issued a citation and released with a court date, and the other was arrested for petit larceny and an illegal drug charge.

Nov. 28:

Theft: Officers responded to a report of theft on W Mesquite Blvd. One written statement was gathered and the investigation is ongoing.
