The Mesquite Arts Council is preparing for their Mac-Spec-Tac Christmas show which is scheduled to be held at the Virgin Valley High School on Tuesday, Nov. 24.
MAC President Blair Adams said, “We have the best musical performances scheduled. We are highlighting Jim Boatright and Heather Law. Headlining, we have the Calvary Chapel Church Band. If you haven’t heard these performers before you are in for a great Christmas Treat.”
Boatright is one of many of the community’s favorite performers. He is a singer, songwriter and guitarist who is sure to charm you with some original music and holiday classics. Adams said, “Jim has his own unique genre of music that I just love and he’s an extremely talented guitarist. People just love listening to Heather sing. She’s got a voice that is out of this world and will be singing some beautiful Christmas songs.”
The featured performers for the Mac-Spec-Tac are the Calvary Chapel Band featuring the talents of Tom Brooks, Kenny, Anita, and friends. The CCB recently appeared at the Harvest Festival and drew a fun crowd with their upbeat music. “They were the surprise hit of our Christmas Tree Festival three years ago and the Mesquite Arts Council has prevailed upon them for a return full concert performance,” said Adams
Adams also commented, “Kenny reminds me of Neil Diamond. He’s just got one of the most beautiful resonant voices and he’s an excellent guitarist. Anita is sort of like Peter, Paul and Mary – a voice that is upbeat and beautiful. When we had them last year performing for our Concert on the Grass, we drew the biggest crowd ever.”
The cost of the concert is $5 but there are coupons available in the Nov. 12 issue of the MLN which gives you $1 off admission. Coupons are also available at local retailers and ticket outlets. A family pass is $15.
