6 WAY BATTLE FOR 5TH PLACE IN MMGA
On Nov. 6 we start at the bottom and work our way back to the top. Tuesday the increasingly larger group of MMGA members teed it up at Falcon Ridge golf course. At the end of the day the following players were tied for the 6th pay off position with net 75’s. Don Mannon (86), Roger Mueller (85), Bubba Petrick (86), Rick Scholl (85), Jim Anderson (97) and Tim Bergstrom (92). Mannon and Mueller bowed out immediately with double bogeys on 13 the first handicap hole. Petrick and Scholl snuck out next when they bogeyed. That left Anderson and Bergstrom with their nice pars went to the 2nd hdcp hole the par four 6th where Bergstrom won 5th with a bogey and Anderson’s 6 dropped him to the 6th position. Ben Bishop with a nice round of 43-43-85 and net 69 earned first low net honors. Sterling Johnson (84) and 69 won second. Joel Reilly, aided by two very nice birdies on the par four third and par three eighth hole shot a superb two over par 37 on the front and a slippage 52 on the back for 89. Joel, you could have been somebody were it not for three sevens on the back. Fourth low net went to Dan Trower with a nice birdie four on the 10th hole to shoot 93 and a net 74. Andrew Yeh shot a nice easy 73 to win medalist honors. Tim Miller, no relations to David Miller, had second low gross with an 80. He also had the low nine on the front with a one over par 36 and he had the most birdies with four, holes 7, 8, 10 and 13…”shut the front door”! Bergstrom had the shot of the day when he drove the green on the 277yd par four third hole. Welcome back “snowballers” Jim Guttridge, Roger Wilson, David Miller and Lyle Warner.
