The awards keep piling up at Mesquite’s Mesa View Regional Hospital as it received its 2015 HealthInsight Quality Award for high performance in quality care measures and patient satisfaction. Mesa View is the only Nevada hospital to win the award in five out of seven years.

The award is presented by HealthInsight, a nonprofit, community-based collaborative organization working to improve health and health care for patients and providers.

The 2015 HealthInsight Quality Award recognizes hospitals for demonstrating high-quality health care and excellence in performance on a combination of publicly reported Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) quality of care measures and patients’ perception of care measures.

“The staff at Mesa View Regional Hospital is dedicated to providing the very best in patient care and our efforts have been enhanced through our quality improvement collaborations with HealthInsight. We are proud to be a recipient of this distinguished award,” said Patty Holden, CEO for Mesa View.

“We used proven, evidence-based practices to assure that consistent medical care for all patients was carried out,” Holden added. “Our combined efforts produced successful outcomes in patient care.”

The measures used in the award criteria come from data that are reported by hospitals across the nation. The award acknowledges hospitals that are actively engaged in advancing care in one or more of the following clinical topics that have been designated as national health care priorities by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS): heart attack, heart failure, pneumonia, and surgical infection prevention.

“We are extremely pleased to be able to recognize these hospitals from across the state for their excellence in performance on the CMS quality measures,” said Deborah Huber, HealthInsight Nevada’s executive director. “This level of achievement requires strong leadership and a dedication to quality by all members of the health care team.”

The HealthInsight Quality Award Program was launched in September 2004 to promote transparency in health care. HealthInsight aims to help providers improve health care and help patients become more active and informed participants in that care.

The Quality Award comes to Mesa View in addition to the recently received Nevada Hospital Association (NHA) ‘Excellence in Volunteerism’ award for 2015 presented to Mesquite resident Sondra Korsen and the Nevada Donor Network 2015’s ‘Most Collaborative Hospital’ in the state.
