Mohave County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a stranded motorist incident Wednesday(7/15) morning.

At about 7:00 a.m., deputies responded to a report from OnStar of a vehicle stuck near the Virgin River.

The stranded motorist advised that she can see the main road but she can’t walk as her legs are cramping.

Deputies followed tracks and eventually located the vehicle.  The vehicle was up to its axle in sand near the river.

The female driver, and only occupant, was Johnnie Hunt, 84, of Mesquite, Nevada.   Hunt advised that she had gotten lost and she spent the night in her vehicle.

Beaver Dam Fire Department personnel responded and treated Hunt for dehydration.  Hunt and her dogs were transported home safely by BDFD.  The vehicle was towed from the scene.
