On July 10, 2015, Virgin Valley High School Junior Varsity and Varsity football teams consisting of around 15 kids and a few coaches showed up to help support the Mesquite Chamber of Commerce and the Clark County Mesquite Library book sale in November to benefit the Mesquite Reads Program.
The team moved around 3000 books to Have Boutique Will Travel where Coleyne Angel and some volunteers will be sorting the books and getting them ready for the book sale.
This is one of many programs that VVHS football coaching staff has implemented as part of the VVHS Football program this year. “I have always believed that the kids need to support/give back to the community that supports them,” Yori Ludvigson, Head Coach VVHS, said. “This is a great character and team building activity. We would like to thank the Department of Athletics and Leisure Services and especially The Mesquite Reads Program and their committee; they are providing a great opportunity for all ages here in Mesquite. We appreciate the opportunity to help out and give back to the community,” Ludvigson added. Coaches that were there today helping move the books along with the team were Yori Ludvigson, Steve White, Nicolas Montoya, and VVHS Athletic Director Kevin Hess.
If there is an organization out there looking for some help or need some service completed please contact Coach Ludvigson at the High School, 702-346-2780.
“We appreciate the support and the service the Bulldogs provided for us, they did a great job and worked hard,” said Nancy Hewett, Mesquite Chamber of Commerce and book sale committee member.
All the money raised for the book sale will go directly to the Mesquite Reads Program. This will be the third book sale the Chamber and the library will be putting on to benefit the Mesquite Reads Program. The book sale will be at the Mesquite Library, 121 W First North Street, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. For more information, contact the Mesquite Chamber of Commerce at 702-346-2902.
