Editor’s note: The following was taken from the pages of the Mesquite Police Department blotter for June 21-27, 2015.
June 21:
Criminal Homicide: Officers responded to the area of Grapevine Road and Mesquite Boulevard reference gun shots. Officers located a male victim and interview witnesses.
The case was turned over to the Investigative Services Division.
Dead Body: An officer responded to a N Arrowhead Ln residence in reference to a welfare check, the occupant of the residence was found to be deceased of natural causes.
Domestic Violence IP: An Officer responded to a Calais Dr residence for a report of a verbal argument between family members. All involved parties were found to be ok and had been involved in a verbal dispute.
Trespassing: Officers responded to an E Pioneer Blvd casino for a trespass violator. A male subject was issued a citation for trespassing and released with a court date.
June 22:
Property Damage, Non Vandalism: Officers responded to a Mesa Blvd casino reference property damage committed by a guest. A report was taken.
Probation Violation: Officers came in contact with an individual on Riverside Rd who was intoxicated and on Probation. The individual was taken into custody.
Vandalism: Officers responded to a report of graffiti on a W Mesquite Blvd commercial building. A report was taken.
Fraud: An Officer took a report of the fraudulent use of a debit card. Information concerning the fraudulent use was obtained and a report completed.
Lost Property: Police took a report for a lost wallet on Mesa Blvd.
Property Damage, Non Vandalism: Mesquite Officer was dispatched to a N Grapevine Rd residence reference vandalism. A suspect was located and later arrested.
Intoxicated Person: Officers responded to a call for an intoxicated driver on W Pioneer Blvd. Officer made contact with an intoxicated subject at her residence, negative DUI.
Theft: A individual came to the police department to report a theft on Gean St. A report was taken.
June 23:
Suspicious/Pers: Mesquite Officers responded to a Mesa Blvd residence reference an intoxicated male adult. The male adult was transported to the Mesquite Detention Center to be held until he became sober.
June 24:
Background Investigation: Officer conducted a business license background check on an applicant.
Background Investigation: Officer conducted a background business license check.
Lost Property: An Officer was dispatched to the Mesquite Police Department for a report of a
lost U.S Passport.
Alarm: Officers respond to a residential alarm on Harbour Dr. The home appeared secure.
Dead Body: Report of a deceased person on Kitty Hawk Dr.
Fraud: Officer’s dispatched to an E Pioneer Blvd casino for a report of a possible fraudulent use
of a credit card.
Agency Assistance: Agency assist regarding missing/lost property that occurred in Bunkerville.
Information Report: Report taken for Identity theft.
Vandalism: Officer responded to a report of graffiti in a local neighborhood near Hagens Alley. Photographs were taken and the investigation is ongoing.
June 25:
Minor Gambling: Officer responded to a W Mesquite Blvd casino for a request for an identification check of a possible minor who was gambling. A male subject was cited for minor gambling and released with a court date.
Citizen Assist: Officer’s responded to a Mesa Blvd residence, reference missing property. The property was located in the residence.
Petit Larceny: Officers dispatched to a N Sandhill Blvd business for a report of a petit larceny.
Panhandling: W Pioneer Blvd business requested panhandler to leave property assisted by officers.
Alarm: Officer’s were dispatched to a Sioux Circle residence for a burglary alarm originating from the back door. Officer’s checked the residence and it appeared to be secured.
Fraud: Report taken of fraudulent use of a credit card.
Person On Foot: Detectives with the Mesquite Narcotics Team arrest a male for sales of a controlled substance.
June 26:
Traffic accident W/O injury: Reported minor damage to mirror from another vehicle. Matter settled at scene on Falcon Ridge Pkwy with driver exchange information.
Lost Property: Person on E Pioneer Blvd reported missing property.
Theft: Reported Yard decorations taken from residential property on Coventry Ln.
Civil Dispute: Officers were dispatched to a Riverside Rd residence for a verbal dispute juvenile females.
Controlled Substance Problem: Officers responded to the parking lot of a local clubhouse on two intoxicated minors. One adult female and one adult male were arrested for minor consumption alcohol, drug paraphernalia, and obstructing a police officer.
False Information: Officers contacted an adult male on Oasis Blvd reference an earlier incident. The male was arrested for obstructing.
Minor Gambling: Officers responded to an E Pioneer Blvd casino reference an identification check. A juvenile was issued a citation for minor gambling, and released to a guardian with a court date.
June 27:
Traffic accident W/O injury: Mesquite officers responded to a two vehicle accident on N Sandhill Blvd with no injuries.
Identification Check: An E Pioneer Blvd casino requested officers to conduct an ID verification on an adult minor, under the age of 21. Minor was cited and released for minor in a bar and using a false ID.
Minor Gambling: Officer responded to an E Pioneer Blvd casino for minor who was gambling and consuming alcohol. The adult minor was arrested for minor gambling and minor in consumption of alcohol.
Disorderly Conduct: Mesquite Officer responded to an E Pioneer Blvd business reference a disorderly person. The Officer arrested a male adult for Contributing to the Delinquency of a Minor.
Stolen Vehicle: An Officer responded to an E Pioneer Blvd casino parking lot for a report of the theft of a vehicle. A report was taken and evidence obtained. The theft is currently under investigation.
