Elks Lodges from throughout Nevada met April 16 – 18 in Hawthorne for the annual State Elks Convention.  The Mesquite Elks Lodge #2811 was awarded the Best Public Relations Program for 2014 – 2015. Mesquite Exalted Ruler, Rick McDonald, presented Larry Todd, Public Relations Chair for the Mesquite Elks, with the trophy on Thursday, May 7, during the Lodge business meeting.

McDonald stated, “Larry’s public relations efforts were clearly the best in the State.  His press releases and photographs provide the members of the community with information about our Lodge and the good work we do throughout the year.”

Also, it was announced that Debbie Oskin was appointed as the Vice Chair of the State Accident Prevention and Insurance Risk Committee; Penny Propotnik was appointed as the Vice Chair of the State Membership Committee; Bill Oskin will serve as the Chair of the State Activities Committee; and Lou Martin will remain the State Public Relations Chair.

And finally, it was announced that Charlie Lum Kee was elected as the Four Year State Trustee and will serve on the State Elks Board of Directors.

McDonald said that “the Mesquite Elks Lodge is recognized as one of the best in the State and that these accomplishments exemplify the outstanding efforts of our membership to serve the members of our community and the State of Nevada.”
