The Roadrunners took advantage of five Dawg errors to take a quick 3-0 lead after one and one half inning of play. The Dawgs cut into the TECH lead by scoring two runs in the bottom of the second, the big blow off the bat of Gizelle Navarro. The Roadrunners added one more run in the top of the fourth to lead 4-2 after four. A rally by the Dawgs in the fifth inning was snuffed by a running mistake. The Dawgs put a walk and two singles together to cut the TECH lead to 4-3 setting up a possible big inning. The Dawgs had runners at all bases, when their runner at second ran into the Roadrunner shortstop, and was called out for interference. During the play a Dawg runner scored but was sent back to third erasing the tie game.

The next two batters were out and the rally fizzled. The Roadrunners added three runs in the sixth and two in the seventh to take a 9-3 lead. The Dawgs threatened in the bottom of the seventh inning after Savannah Price ripped a double and advanced to third on a groundout. Janella Fiso struck a single bringing in Price. Tylee Robison brought in Fiso on a single to make the score 9-5 advantage TECH. The Dawgs bats were shut down to end the inning. The Dawgs outhit the Roadrunners 11-5 but still came out on the short end of the 9-5 score. Price, Fiso and Wakefield led the Dawgs with two hits apiece.
