We would like to extend a sincere thank you for the show of support we received during our Second Annual Donkey Jamboree fundraising event. The event was great fun, with fabulous music, food, a wonderful collection of raffle items. The stars of the event were rescue donkeys Ferris, Abby and Footloose.

Mark Myers, the founder of PVDR rescue along with Doc Darlin, Head of Adoptions and Public Outreach, were on hand to answer any questions about the organization and meet our local supporters.

PVDR’s Donkey Extravaganza booths were set up housing live donkeys and showcasing gifts/memorabilia available for purchase.

Continuous showings of the newly released video, “Forgotten- the Plight of the American Donkey” were being shown inside the casino.

On hand were some of the world famous BürroCøllies who are highly trained of dogs specializing in the capture and herding of donkeys.

Also attending the event was a larger than life sized donkey who visited with everyone, rode through town in a red convertible, stopped in some of the locals businesses and spent much of his/her time dancing with the crowd of people.

We would like to say thank Jeannie Guttke from the Golden West Casino and employees who put such a lot of time and effort in organizing the fundraiser. Thank you just doesn’t seem to be enough.

A special thanks goes out to all of our generous sponsors for their support: Golden West Casino, U. S. Foods, Budweiser, Ace Hardware, Miller Lite, Johnson Bros., and Morcon.

Big thanks to Terry Caudill, Golden West Casino owner.

Scotty from Groovy Tunes provided music and songs to the crowd and had them dancing and singing along with his music.

The Showgirls of Mesquite, added lots of colorful feathers and sparkles along with their beautiful smiles while they circulated throughout the crowd wearing their “Salon Girl” costumes.

Thank you to the businesses and individuals that provided the raffle prizes Automotive Certified Technicians, Baja Imports,  Eureka Casino,  Golden West Casino,  Lee’s Discount Liquor,  Mesquite Veterinary Clinic,  Oasis Chiropractor,  Playoffs Sports Pub,  Ready Golf & Gear,  Scenic General Store,  The View by Jenna, Natalie & Diane,  Nancy Baines,  Klasik Kloset Boutique, Sahara Hair by Jalee Talbot,  Jackie Winters, and Walmart.

Adoptable dogs from We Care for Animals, Windy’s Ranch and Rescue of Las Vegas and HART of St. George also stopped to mingle with the crowd and strut their stuff. Yes, some dogs did get adopted as a result of being seen at the event.

A special thanks to the many volunteers who worked to make this event a success. We appreciate everyone that shares their time helping with our events and helping at the adoption center in Scenic.

And also a big thank you to all of you that took time to brave the chance of rain and support the event. We appreciate the people that continue to follow the donkey rescue and those new individuals who will now become part of the PVDR Family.
