Many calls that the Police Department receives are not always included in the blotter, as they are under investigation or a synopsis is not received. To show the amount of work our PD does do, we are including a weekly roster of stats.

Editor’s note: The following was taken from the pages of the Mesquite Police Department blotter for Feb. 22 – 28, 2015.

Feb. 22:

Hit & Run: Officers responded to the corner of Second South St and Riverside Rd reference a hit and run traffic accident, vehicle versus pedestrian.  After conducting an investigation, it was determined the accident did not occur, and
an adult male was charged with filing a false police report and obstruction.

Theft from Vehicle: Police responded to a theft from vehicle in a W Mesquite Blvd casino parking lot. Two vehicles had items stolen from inside. Surveillance was obtained and a report was taken.

Minor Gambling: Police responded to an E Pioneer Blvd casino reference a report of a minor gambling. An adult male under the age of 21 was issued a citation for minor gambling and released with a court date.

Feb. 23:

Suicidal Person: Officers responded to an E Pioneer Blvd Casino for a report of a possible suicidal person. The involved party denied any Suicidal thoughts and said she was only involved in a verbal argument with her mother. The daughter left the area.

Vandalism: Officers responded to a N Grapevine Rd apartment complex reference vandalism to a vehicle.  A report was taken.

Driving Under the Influence: Officers responded to a Riverside Rd shopping center reference an intoxicated adult female. After an investigation the female was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol.

Feb. 24:

Fire: Officers located a trash dumpster on fire at a Riverside Rd business.

Feb. 25:

Fighting: Officers called to a verbal dispute on Hillside Dr. Matter settled at scene.

Traffic accident W/O injury: Slight bumper damage no injuries at N Sandhill Blvd & E Old Mill Rd; drivers exchanged information.

Feb. 26:

Suicidal Person: An officer responded to a Cascade Ave residence, in reference to a suicidal subject. A juvenile female was later transported to the hospital for a legal 2000.

Driving Under the Influence: Officers responded to a report of a hit and run accident on Moss Dr. Officers located the suspect driver.  The driver was arrested and charged with DUI 2nd offense and duty upon damaging unattended property.

Citizen Assist: Officer responded to Police Department Lobby regarding attempted fraud.  Officer
obtained information and a report was taken.

Truancy: Officer’s responded to Hughes Middle School on W Hafen Ln for a habitual truancy.

Civil Matter: Officer took a report of a neighborhood dispute.

Wanted Person: Officers contacted a male at Second South St & Shade Tree Ln with an active Mesquite Municipal Court warrant. The male was arrested and booked on the warrant.

Burglary: Police responded to a Canyon Way residence reference a prowler in the backyard. Officers located an adult male, who attempted to evade officers. The male was arrested for several offenses, and the investigation continues.

Feb. 27:

Driving Under the Influence: Officer arrested one adult male on W Mesquite Blvd for suspicion of DUI and traffic offenses.

Truancy: School Resource Officer conducted a welfare check on a truant student on E First North St. Student was issued a citation for habitual truancy and transported to the school.

Truancy: Dean of Students on Valley View Dr advised Officers a student was habitually truant. A citation was signed for truancy by juvenile and guardian.

Burglary: Officers responded to a burglary of a Canyon View Way residence. Officers determined forced entry was made into the residence early that same morning.  The Investigative Services Division responded and processed the scene.

Lost Property: Officer received call from visitor who wanted to report a missing wedding ring. Report was taken.

Theft from Vehicle: Officers responded to a report of theft from a vehicle on W Hafen Ln and a statement was gathered.

Driving Under the Influence: Officers responded to a Grotto Trail residence reference a disorderly subject. An adult male was arrested for breach of peace and driving under the influence of alcohol.

Feb. 28:

Driving Under the Influence: An Officer stopped a vehicle for a traffic offense at W First South St & Thistle St. The officer observed evidence the driver was impaired.  The officer conducted a DUI investigation. The driver was arrested for DUI alcohol and failure to yield at a controlled intersection.

Citizen Assist: Officer spoke with a citizen who had concerns about welfare of another.  Officer took citizen information for follow up.

Domestic Trouble: Officers responded to a Riverside Rd apartment complex reference a domestic disturbance call. At the conclusion of the investigation two adults and one juvenile were issued citations for Domestic battery.

Domestic Trouble: Officers responded to W Mesquite Blvd for a report of domestic battery in progress and one adult female was arrested based on evidence.

Disorderly Conduct: Officers responded to an E Pioneer Blvd casino reference two disorderly patrons. Two adult males were arrested for trespass, breach of peace, and resisting arrest.

Agency Assistance: Officers responded to Interstate 15 NB for a request for an agency assist in locating a vehicle. Officers located and stopped the vehicle. Information from the occupants was turned over to reporting agency.

Minor Gambling: Officer responded to a minor gambling at an E Pioneer Blvd casino and one female was issued a citation without further incident.
