Editor’s note: The following was taken from the pages of the Mesquite Police Department blotter for Feb. 1 – 7, 2015.
Feb. 1:
Property Damage, Non Vandalism: An Officer responded to a N Sandhill Blvd business for a report of property damage. A driver of a pickup truck caused damage to a drive-through car wash and then left the area. A report was completed.

Domestic Trouble: Officers responded to a fight call in front of several residences on Moss Dr. Through the course of the investigation suspects were cited and released with a court date. Medical treatment was refused by all participants.

Feb. 2:
Domestic Trouble: Officers responded to a Reber Dr. residence reference an intoxicated male striking and fighting with family members. The offender was arrested for domestic battery.

Property Damage, Non Vandalism: Officer responded to a report of property damage to a Riverside Rd residence.

Burglary: Officers responded to a Prominence Ln residence on a report of a possible burglary. Detectives were contacted and the investigation is ongoing.

Theft: Police responded to a theft at a Turtle Cove residence. A report was taken.

Burglary: Officers responded to a W Hafen Ln residence reference a report of a possible burglary. An officer’s report was completed, and the investigation is ongoing.

Feb. 3:
Property Damage, Non Vandalism: Police responded to property damage in a W Pioneer Blvd parking lot. A vehicle’s window had been smashed out. A report was taken for the incident.

Burglary: Officers responded to a W Mesquite Blvd business, for a report of a forced entry burglary. The suspect was observed inside the business by an employee and fled the area. The burglary is being investigated.

Vandalism: An officer responded to an E Pioneer Blvd parking lot for a vandalism of a motor vehicle.
Traffic accident W/O injury: An Officer responded to N Sandhill Blvd for a report of a two-vehicle private property accident. Prior to officers’ arrival, one of the vehicles had left the area. An accident report was completed for insurance purposes.

Stolen Property: An Officer responded to a Madrigal Dr residence for a report of the theft of a UPS delivery. Information was received and a report taken.

Lost Property: An Officer responded to the area of Sandhill and Hillside for a report of lost property. A description of the property was obtained and a report taken.

Feb. 4:
Suspicious/Person: Officers responded to a N Sandhill Blvd grocery store reference a disorderly male. The male was arrested for trespassing.

Theft from Vehicle: An officer was dispatched to a Rio Valley residence, for a report of stolen property from vehicle. No sign of forced entry, it appears the vehicle was unsecured. The victim requested a report filed for the missing items.

Lost Property: Officers responded to a Pulsipher Ln residence for report of a lost license plate.

Theft from Vehicle: Officers responded to a Clear Bark residence reference a theft from a motor vehicle.

Feb. 5:
Traffic accident W/O injury: Officers responded to a two vehicle accident with negative injuries at the intersection of Riverside Rd and Mesquite Blvd.

Property Damage, Non Vandalism: Officer was flagged down by a citizen on W Hafen Ln reporting that her garage was struck by a vehicle sometime between last night and this morning. Report was taken and investigation is ongoing.

Wanted Person: Officer responded to the front lobby of the police department for a subject with a warrant requesting to turn himself in. Subject was taken into custody for the warrant.

Fraud: Female received packages (clothing) at her Mesquite Springs Dr residence that she did not order. Investigation determined it was an internet scam. RP turned over the packages to the Mesquite Police Department. Suspect lives outside the USA.

Minor Gambling: Officers responded to an E Pioneer Blvd casino reference two minors gambling.

Property Damage, Non Vandalism: Officers responded to a W Mesquite Blvd casino reference a burglary.

Feb. 6:
Property Damage, Non Vandalism: Officer responded to a W Mesquite Blvd hotel on a reported property damage. Officer contacted both parties and a report was taken.

Petit Larceny: An officer was dispatched to a W Pioneer Blvd department store, reference petit theft. The store requested the incident be documented, per their policy.

Wanted Person: Officers completed a traffic stop on Hillside Dr and arrested two subjects who had warrants out Mesquite Municipal Court.

Minor Gambling: Officers responded to an E Pioneer Blvd casino reference a female minor gambling on a slot machine. The minor received a citation for minor gambling and was released with a court date.

Minor Gambling: Officers responded to an E Pioneer Blvd casino reference a minor gambling. The minor was issued a citation and released with a court date.

Feb. 7:
Suicidal Person: Officers responded to a Rolling Hills Dr residence reference a intoxicated female who was suicidal. The female was transported to the hospital for treatment.

Theft from Vehicle: Officer received a report of a vehicle burglary on Vista Dr and a written statement was gathered. Investigation is ongoing.

Missing Person: An Officer responded to a Pulsipher Ln residence and took a missing person report. A mother reported her son had left Mesquite heading for his home in California and has not made it home. Information received and the adult male was entered as a missing person.

Theft: An Officer responded to a W Mesquite Blvd business for a report of the theft of a wallet. A report was taken and evidence gathered. An Investigation is ongoing.

Driving Under the Influence: Police conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for a moving violation at W Pioneer Blvd & Redd Hills Pkwy. One adult male was arrested for DUI and booked into the Mesquite Detention Center.
