The Virgin Valley High School girl flag football team ended 2014-2015, season rolling over Clark and Western High Schools 40-6 and 48-6 respectively. The Dawgs defeated the Chargers Friday night in Las Vegas 40-6 behind the passing of Kallie Graves and the running of Marlene Quiarte. Graves completed 17 of 26 passes for 231 yards and four touchdowns. Quiarte ran for 94 yards on 9 carries for two touchdowns. On the receiving end of Graves’ touchdown passes were Quiarte, Brooke White, Dylan Bryant and Taylor Bryant. Leading the Bulldog defense were Kaydee Bingham and Idania Ramirez with interceptions and MaKenzie Leishman with 9 pulls.

The Bulldog Gridiron Gals wasted very little time Monday night running and passing their way to a 48-6 win over Western High School in the Dawg Pound. The Dawgs scored on their first four possessions to take a 27-0 half time lead. The Dawgs marched down field on their first possession and scored on a Kallie Graves to Dylan Bryant 10 yard pass. Graves hit Madison Cheney for the extra point giving the Dawgs a 7-0 advantage after three minutes of play. Graves ran in the second score and hit Dylan Bryant for the extra point for a 14-0 lead with 19 minutes on the clock. The Dawgs defense stepped up highlighted by Emma Dodenbier’s interception and scored their third touchdown on another pass to Dylan Bryant. Taylor Bryant added the extra point upping the Dawgs lead to 21-0. The Bulldogs added their last touchdown of the first half on a 13 yard pass from Graves to Cheney for a 27-0 halftime lead. The Bulldog defense held the Warriors to one first down in the period.

The Bulldog defense shut down the Warriors to begin the second half and marched down the field for their fifth touchdown of the night. Graves pass to Genesis De Leon was tipped and rebounded into the hands of Taylor Bryant for the score and a 34-0 advantage. Dylan Bryant set up another Bulldog drive intercepting a Warrior pass at the 40 yard line. Quiarte and Leishman teamed up on a 14 yard pass and reception upping the Bulldog lead to 40-6. The warriors finally got on the scoreboard with nine minutes remaining in the game but their two point extra-point try was intercepted by Taylor Bryant who raced down field for 76 yards and two Dawg points and a 42-6 Bulldog rout. The game ended on a pick six by Kaydee Bingham making the final score 48-6. The win gave the Dawgs a 9-7 record in league play, one game out of the playoffs, and 12-9 overall record. The Bulldogs honored senior players prior to the start of the game.
