The Clark County Young Farmers & Ranchers committee donated 1,400 pounds of food to the Cappalappa Family Resource Center in 2014.

Members of the YF&R committee will collect food from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. outside the market. Individuals interested in participating will be provided a list of suggested food items to donate.

“We are excited to hold our food drive again this year,” Clark County YF&R committee chair Spencer Bunker said. “Collecting food for those in need is a great way for us as agriculturists to give back to our community.”

Donations to the food drive will benefit the Cappalappa Family Resource Center in Overton. Last year, the center received 1,400 pounds of non-perishable food items.

“The Harvest for All food drive is really beneficial for us because the Farm Bureau collects food items that we often don’t have enough of at our center,” said Penny Vallone, director of the Cappalappa Family Resource Center.

The food drive is part of the American Farm Bureau Harvest for All program. Throughout the year, farmers and ranchers across the United States donate time, money and food to local Feeding America affiliates and other food banks.
