Many calls that the Police Department receives are not always included in the blotter, as they are under investigation and a synopsis is not received. To show the amount of work our PD does do, we will be including a weekly roster of stats.

Editor’s note: The following was taken from the pages of the Mesquite Police Department blotter for Jan. 4 – Jan. 10, 2015.

Jan. 4:

Lost Property: An officer responded to the police lobby in reference to a lost wallet.

Lost Property: Police received a report of a wallet lost at an E Pioneer Blvd casino. The lost items were documented and an officer’s report was completed.

Agency Assistance: Inmate in holding cell had a seizure and was transported to Mesa View Hospital by Mesquite Fire Rescue.

Jan. 5:

Disorderly Conduct: Officers were dispatched to an Adobe Dr residence, in reference to a disorderly person.

Jan. 6:

Threatening: An Officer responded to a W Hafen Ln golf course for a report of a dispute between two golfers. Information was gathered and a report was taken.

Battery on Person: An officer was dispatched to a Bertha Howe Ave medical center, in reference to a battery.

Battery on Person: Officer took a report of a battery that occurred three months ago. Investigation
is on going.

Traffic Stop: An officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle at W Mesquite Blvd & N Grapevine Rd for a moving violation. One adult male was arrested for multiple traffic infractions and booked into the Mesquite Detention Center.

Jan. 7:

Domestic Trouble: Officers responded to a Mesquite Springs Dr residence for a domestic dispute between an adult male and adult female.  The male was arrested for domestic battery and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Intoxicated Person: Officers responded to a W Mesquite Blvd business reference a trespass violation and breach of peace. The male adult was arrested and booked into the Mesquite Detention Center.

Jan. 8:

Wanted Person: Officer made contact with an adult male with an active warrant out of Mesquite Municipal Court. The male was arrested without incident and transported to the Mesquite Detention Center.

Found Property: Found Bicycle was found at a Turtleback Rd church. The bicycle was placed in the Mesquite lost and found.

Lost Property: Officer took a report of lost property on Mesa Blvd. Report was documented and incident number provided to the complainant

Wanted Person: Officers arrested a male on Scrub Ln who had a warrant out of Mesquite Municipal Court.

Wanted Person: Officers made contact with an adult male on Honeysuckle Ln with a misdemeanor warrant from district court.  The male was taken into custody and awaits transportation to Clark County Detention Center.

Wanted Person: Officers contacted and arrested a Honeysuckle Ln female with a confirmed Mesquite Municipal Court warrant.

Jan. 9:

Traffic Stop: Officers completed a traffic stop on E Pioneer Blvd on a male driver for basic speed. Officers later arrested the male for unlicensed driver, obstructing public officer and basic speed.

Traffic accident W/O injury: Officers responded to the intersection of Pioneer Blvd and Oasis Blvd on a two vehicle accident.  Report was taken and one citation was issued.

Wanted Person: Officers arrested a male at W Hafen Ln & S Arrowhead Ln who had an active warrant out of Bunkerville Town Justice Court.

Jan. 10:

Wanted Person: Officers conducted a traffic stop on a speeding vehicle on Pioneer Blvd. The adult male driver was arrested for a felony warrant and various new offenses.

Suspicious Person/Circumstance: Officers responded to a report of an unknown subject shooting birds on a Hardy Way golf course with a suspected air rifle. Contact was made with the Division of Wildlife Resources who stated a permit had been issued.

Theft: An Officer responded to a W Mesquite Blvd business for a report of an item being stolen from an outside display. Information concerning the theft was obtained and a report was completed.

Driving Under the Influence: Police responded to a possible accident on Hardy Way. One adult female was arrested for DUI and one adult female passenger was arrested for obstructing an officer. Both women were booked into the Mesquite Detention Center.

Person On Foot: Officer observed a young female juvenile walking on W Hafen Ln with a book bag on. Officer conducted a consensual encounter and discovered she was going to her boyfriend’s house without parental permission. Child released to parent.

Controlled Substance Problem: An officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for equipment and traffic violations on W Old Mill Rd. The male driver was found to be in possession of a felony amount of marijuana. The male was arrested for possession of marijuana.
